Meet Gangaa Mukhia, he is the talk of the town with his debut album “Aakarshan”, a Nepali rock music album, recorded at the studio in Mumbai. Aakarshan got raving reviews from his admirers that he is set to come up with its music video very shortly.  The music album was officially released on the occasion of the final of the Nachiyo Babari, the dance reality show held at Paljor Stadium at Gangtok through the hand of Dr. Pawan Chamling, the Chief Minister of Sikkim. How about that an orchid variety "Brasso Laelio Cattleya (Blc)" made by Mr. K.C.Pradhan who is creator of the Hybrid orchid, which is registered with the International Registration Authority for Orchid Hybrid, UK is named after Miraya Vadra, daughter of Priyanka and Robert Vodhera and the granddaughter of Sonia Gandhi. Upon the consent of Mrs. Gandhi, the hybrid orchid was renamed as "Miraya", Brasso Laelio cattleya(BLC), in the name of her grand daughter. The flower exhibition held on 26th Sept, 2006 was attended by Dr. Pawan Chamling (CM of Sikkim) and Tika Maya Chamling, Mr O.T. I would like to make a slight correction at the below article that Mr. Pawan Kumar Chamling 's father's name is Ash Bahadur Rai and her mother's name is Ash Maya Rai. Mr. Pawan Kumar Chamling was born in 1950 , he is not a class 5 drop out but had finished class X. From Sikkim Express Chief Minister and Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party president, Pawan Chamling is worth nearly Rs. 1.5 crores. In his affidavit submitted to the District Collector, South along with his nomination papers in Namchi today, Mr. Chamling’s net worth is valued at Rs. 14,299,347 in movable and immovable properties (SEE BOX). In his affidavit, the SDF leader declared immovable properties in commercial and residential buildings worth Rs. 5,215,888 in total. Agricultural land in his name is valued at Rs. 7,69,909. The 32 assembly seats and the sole Lok Sabha seat in Sikkim shall undergo poll on April 30. The notification would be issued on April 2, while the last date of nominations has been fixed on April 9. Scrutiny will take place on April 10 and the withdrawal of candidature has been scheduled for April 13. The counting of votes would take place on May 16. A total of 2,97,580 voters, comprising 1,55,649 men and 1,41,931 women will exercise their franchise to elect 32 representatives to the state assembly and that of one Lok Sabha on April 30, he said. A 12-hour bandh call by the supporters of the ruling SDF party was observed today. The bandh was called to protest the burning of Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling's effigy by the Shiv Sena activists on the 11th of September in Siliguri, West Bengal charging CM Chamling with having 'dual nationality. GANGTOK, August 08: Tendong Lho Rum Faat, the indigenous festival of the Lepchas was today celebrated with pomp and splendour at the Sikkim Government College auditorium with Chief Minister Pawan Chamling as the chief guest here today. The two-day festival, which commenced from August 7, also saw Bongthings offer prayers in honour of Mount Tendong and also for world peace and prosperity.
