03.11.21: Members of PSS, the photography enthusiastic organization based on Singtam, celebrated its sixth year of formation at Mt. Zion School, Singtam. Executive members led by Sisir Chettri ( Advisor), Ashok Prasad (Joint Secretary), Shital Pradhan (Publicity Secretary), and others were present on the occasion. Different matters related to the development of photography in and around Singtam were discussed. Photographic workshops at Singtam SSS, Mt. Zion School Singtam, and other schools were also noted down in the coming new academic session.

28.10.21: Three members team of Photographic Society of Sikkim visited Singtam SSS to meet Mr. Suresh Kumar Pradhan, recently appointed Principal of the school. He was offered khadas and welcomed. Talks on matter of photography related to school was also discussed. Suresh Kumar Pradhan was the founder Vice President of the Photographic Society of Sikkim, a photo enthusiastic group from Singtam. PSS members included Sanket Agarwal, (General Secretary) Ashok Prasad (Joint Secretary), and Shital Pradhan.

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 25: On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Photographic Society of Sikkim (Singtam), a one-day free basic photography workshop was conducted at Kidzee School, Singtam. Eighteen participants from nearby places of Singtam and beyond had participated. Those included places like Gangtok, Samdong, Rhenock, Kingstone, Ranipool, Singtam, Sang Khola, and others. The cake-cutting celebration was also held on the day The photography workshop had two sessions; indoor and outdoor. The indoor session had talks and discussions on three topics viz. Basics of Photography, Brief Introduction on Camera Insights and Night-Photography by Ujjwal Darjee, Sanket Agarwal, and Roshan Rai respectively, all members of PSS. Singtam, January 26:  Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam has thanked the organizing committee of Mazhitar Food and Drink Festival 2016 for an opportunity to showcase the photographic talent of their members. The three-day event had provided a much-needed boost for the young Society. A membership drive was also conducted at the event, informed Milan Sharma, General Secretary through the press release. The press release further reads, PSS would like to thank all the three Chief Guests of the consecutive days, Shri Ugen T. Gyatso, Tourism Minister, Smt. SINGTAM, JANUARY 8:  Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam concluded its two-day workshop on the theme ‘Basics of the Photography” at Temi Tea Garden on January 7. Thirteen participants were present on the occasion that was from in and around Singtam Town. Vivek Prasad, Nikon School India, Kolkata was the Instructor of the two-day program. The recently formed Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam in its press release had thanked the mentor and the participants for the success of the workshop. The two-day session included interaction and discussion between the participants and the Instructor.  The session had a theory class on the inaugural day that was held at Kid Zee School, Dhamala Colony, Singtam while on the next day field class was organized in the natural scenic beauty of Temi Tea Garden, reads the press release.

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 14:  Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam in their press release had congratulated Phurba Thendup Bhutia from Gangtok for winning the Sikkim Chapter of the Second edition of India Weaved in Frames (IWIF) photography contests. Sishir Chettri, President Photographic Society of Sikkim, Singtam has congratulated Phurba Thendup Bhutia. It is a special moment for us; our member’s win will surely inspire our photography team, reads the press release. The winning pic was taken during Kagyed Dance at Enchay Monastery. India Weaved in Frames, in short IWIF, is a collection of 31 photography contests, one contest themed on every Indian state and one for all the Union Territories together. The competition showcased the salient feature of Indian states including culture, heritage, architecture, landscape, people, wildlife, festival, art forms, food, or any other subject of one’s choice.

SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 22: Singtam gets its first photography club. At a function attended by photographic admirers from Singtam and beyond, the Photographic Society of Sikkim (PSS) was officially announced, and its logo was released at Kid Zee School, Dhamala Colony.   Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Sansthapak of Singtam Basibiyalo, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Plans to organize photography awareness workshops, field trips, and the honing of photographic skills were discussed. The members' portfolios were also distributed. Shital Pradhan, blogger at Proud to be a Sikkimese, hosted the program and gave a welcome speech. Milan Sharma spoke about the importance of establishing the Photographic Society of Sikkim and different agendas that could benefit society through the hobby of photography.
