Dalapchand SS wins Aritar School Challenge Cup 2013

SINGTAM, AUGUST 16: Dalapchand SS had won the Aritar School Challenge Cup 2013 that was held at the Lampokhari Festival Ground, Aritar. They defeated St. Joseph’s School, Rhenock with three goals to one in the final. Puran Gurung, Area MLA was the Chief Guest on the occasion. From Dalapchand SS Santosh Chettri of Class, IX scored two goals in the first half and Goutam Gurung of Class VIII added another goal in the second half. The trophies were sponsored by Mr. Chewang   Norbu Sherpa in memory of his father along with cash prizes of 10,000 and 5,000 for the winning team and the runner-up team respectively. Santosh Chettri from Dalapchand SS was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ as well as the ‘Player of the Tournament while the Seventh Day Adventist School team of Rhenock was conferred with the trophy of Most Promising Team. Upper Sumin SS reaches Semi Final

  SINGTAM, AUGUST 10: Upper Sumin SS became the second team to reach the last four of the U-15 Inter School Football Tournament held at Sakyong Chisopani JHS. They will now play with the school team of Burung JHS on August 13. Earlier today Upper Sumin SS defeated their opponent Dippudara PS with four goals to one. Aashish Mangar scored a stunning long shot goal to make Dippudara PS take a lead in the first half but was over shadow with the beautiful game plan of Upper Sumin SS players. Dawa Karma Sherpa, Nim Dorjee Sherpa, Kubir Raj Rai and Phurba Dorjee Sherpa scored a goal each for Upper Sumin SS.

Shital Pradhan...the cricketer

I believe I am not sounding erratic with such headlines as "Shital Pradhan....the cricketer", but this is one part of my life that made sacrifices for what I am today. A cricket loss was a history's gain. I used to believe I was born to play cricket, all that I did for most of my initial years was eat cricket, play cricket, think cricket and sleep cricket.  Until one fine morning, I realised that it was not my inner satisfaction that I need to fulfil but I am born to do things that no one dares to flip over and that was.....to shake up our past from the wheel of the clock. Thus my unknown journey towards unwinding Sikkim's history began. But today, I want to speak more about cricket, which was my first love.
