Government Primary School Dongeythang Celebrates 79th Independence Day

16.08.25, Singtam : Government Primary School, Dongeythang, celebrated India's 79th Independence Day with a grand and patriotic program. Mrs. Gaki Doma Bhutia, Panchayat of Simick Ward and SMC President, and Mrs. Phurmit Lepcha, Panchayat of Lingzey Ward and Vice President of Simik Lingzey GPU, served as the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively, and unfurled the tricolor flag. Distinguished guests, students, staff, and parents were present on the occasion. The day's highlight was the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Guest, accompanied by the National Anthem and a spirited march past by the students of Dongeythang Primary School. Shri Bhim Prasad Dahal delivered the welcome speech. Lata Memorial Public School Marks 79th Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit

15.08.25: Lata Memorial Public School, in collaboration with the Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm today, August 15, 2025. The program was graced by Shri Bhakta Bahadur Chettri, a retired Army Officer, as the Chief Guest, and Smt Rajni Singh Cintury, President of the School Management Committee (SMC), as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Manish Pradhan, Principal cum Director of LMPS, and Shri Krishna Chettri, President of the SGSS, attended as Special Guests. The LMPS students participated in a parade that helped them learn about India's freedom struggle and encouraged patriotism, unity, and discipline. They also took an active part in patriotic songs, sports, and a cultural program. The celebration ended with a ceremony to distribute medals and certificates to the students.

78th Independence Day Celebration at Sonamati SSS

 The 78th Independence Day celebration at Sonamati SSS’s ground on 15 August 2024 was marked by joy and enthusiasm. Shri N.B. Dahal, Hon’ble Minister for Roads and Bridges and Area MLA, was the Chief Guest. Among the distinguished guests were Shri Suresh Tamang, President of Singtam Nagar Panchayats, Shri S.D. Dhakal, BDO of Khamdong BAC, former Ministers, Panchayats from various GPUs, police officials, representatives of BAC Khamdong, school heads, SKM party officials, and many others. The highly anticipated Open Football final saw the Sangha 32 Football Team emerge victorious against Nutmeg, winning a grand prize of ₹4 lakh, while the runners-up took home ₹2 lakh. Chungthang celebrates 76th I’Day

15.08.22: 76th Independence day was celebrated at Chungthang Sub Division, North Sikkim in a grand manner with joy and enthusiasm. The programme was graced by Shri YT Lepcha, MLA, Gangtok. The Chief Guest unfurled the national tricolour flag, thereafter the march1-past was performed by the ITBT Chungthang, scouts and students of Tasa Tengay SSS and Mount English school.  Shri Hem Sagar Kaflay, ADC (Dev.) August 15, Singtam: Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated 76th Independence Day with joy and enthusiasm. The felicitation program, veteran doubles badminton exhibition match, culture and sports activities were the highlight of the day. Shyam Pradhan, AD, Food and Civil Supply Department, Singtam was the chief guest of the day. Head Lobella, Karma Thujee Monastery, Shantinagar, Singtam was the guest of honour. Others included TB Pradhan, Advisor, SGSS, Nandu Dutraj, senior journalist and members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti Tinku Adhikari, President of Sikkim Motor Transport Workers Association (SMTWA), and Suresh K Lama, Social Worker were felicitated for their contribution to society. Doubles badminton team of Krishna Chettri and Gurmeet Singh from SGSS defeated Nandu Dutraj and DB Pradhan from Burdang in a Men's Doubles Veteran Badminton Exhibition Match on the occasion of 75th Independence Day held at Badminton Court, Shantinagar. The program started with a hoisting of national tri-colour flag by PK Pradhan, Chief Guest of the day. Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS gave a welcome speech. 74th Independence Day observed at Shantinagar

SINGTAM, AUGUST 15: Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti observed the 74th Independence Day in its shortest time. The program was limited to hoisting of flag and distribution of congratulation certificates to the students of Shantinagar.  Twenty members of SGGS were present on the occasion and those names were submitted to Singtam Police Station while seeking permission. Proper social distance was maintained during the short program. Menuka Sundas (Coordinator – Women SGSS) was the Chief Guest on the program. She hoisted the national flag, thereafter the national anthem was sung.  Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS spoked in brief about the day and celebration was done with Covid-19 health protocol. Chettri also appealed the house owners at Shantinagar to inform about the Pharma Company working tenants. Former Headmaster Mahesh Dahal felicitated at Chisopani JHS IDay

73rd Independence Day was celebrated at Sakyong Chisopani JHS . The highlight of the day was March Past by School students along with a patriotic dance presentation. Action song dance and drill by the junior section were highly appreciated by the crowds.  Mahesh Dahal , former Headmaster of the school was felicitated on the occasion towards the all-around development of the school in his tenure.  TB Rai, a former panchayat was the Chief Guest of the day while Ramesh Gurung,  Ward Panchayat was the Guest of honour. Other guests present on the occasion were PB Tamang, SMC Advisor, SMC President, and others. Stella Subba, former student recited a poem with a social message. In an exhibition football match between the teams of Primary and Upper Primary was won by Primary Team in a penalty shoot-out.

Singtam, August 17: Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 72 nd  Independence Day with joy and enthusiasm..The parade march, Badminton matches, and a cultural program was the highlight of the day. TB Pradhan, former Wireless Inspector, and KK Pradhan, former Policeman, Singtam Police Station were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour on the occasion. Schoolboys Pintu Gupta and Aaron Pradhan won the Shantinagar Open Men’s Doubles Badminton Tournament- 2018. They defeated Bishal Pradhan and Yowan Lepcha in a close match. Nandu Dutraj defeated Krishna Chettri in the Veteran Singles Exhibition match.
