Successful Free Eye Camp Organized by SGREWA, Singtam and Greater Lion Eye Hospital

30.05.24: The Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association (SGREWA), Singtam, in collaboration with Greater Lion Eye Hospital, Rangpo Sector, organized a Free Eye Camp at Simick Linzey GPU on May 29, 2024. The health camp was supported by District Hospital Singtam and Simick Linzey GPU. 188 individuals benefitted from eye health check-ups, BP tests, and random blood tests for diabetes. A dental surgeon from Sang PHC conducted dental check-ups, and health staff from Dongeythang, Khamdong, and Sumick Linzey PHSC assisted in the program. Ten persons were identified for eye surgery. Smt. Dhanmaya Sharma, a retired nurse and social worker, significantly contributed to the camp's success. Shri D.R. Dhakal, an active member of SGREWA, Singtam, was the main organizer and coordinated the event effectively. We thank the panchayats, GPU staff, Principal Sonamati SSS, Incharge – Sumick Linzey JHS, and all who supported the camp.

SGREWA, Singtam Branch, Applauds Outstanding Singtam SSS Students for Board Examination Success

Singtam, Sikkim - June 9, 2023 - Members of the Sikkim Government Retired Employee Welfare Association (SGREWA), Singtam Branch, gathered together to honor and felicitate four outstanding students from Government Secondary School, Singtam, for their exceptional performance in the recently concluded Board Examinations 2023. The event took place at the premises of Singtam SSS. In a heart-warming gesture, two school toppers from Class X and two from Class XII were presented with khadas, and bestowed with mementoes as a token of appreciation for their exemplary dedication and commitment to academic excellence. Master Aditya Chettri (Humanities, 91.6%) and Miss Anjali Kumari (Commerce, 90.6%) emerged as the top two school toppers in Class XII. Meanwhile, Miss Sonia Kumari (94.4%) and Master Emmanuel Waiba (87.6%) secured the highest percentage scores in Class X. SGREWA Singtam Branch condemn referring Sikkimey Nepalese as "foreigners"

03.02.23 - At a weekly meeting of the Sikkim Government Retired Employee Welfare Association, Singtam Branch, today in its office at Mandi Bazaar, Singtam, the following resolutions were adopted. 1. The SGREWA, Singtam Branch condemns the verdict referring to Sikkimey Nepalese as "foreigners" and wiping out our identity, the word 'Sikkimey'.   2. SGREWA Singtam wholeheartedly supports the efforts of JAC in working towards the re-tarnishing of the identity of the Nepali community as a foreigner. 3. The organization supports peaceful movements and opposes violence.

SNP President inaugurates SGREWA Singtam Branch office

December 27, Singtam : Suresh Tamang, President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat inaugurated the Singtam Branch Office of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association at Old Shopping Complex, Mandi Bazaar, Singtam. Present on the occasion were Yad Kri Kami, Kishore Chettri (Coun cillors, SNP), Dr. Tempo Bhutia, CMO, District Hospital Singtam, Krishna Chettri, President, Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti, Mahesh Dahal, Headmaster, Dipudara PS and members of SRGEWA Singtam. The second session of the program was organised at Bihari Dharamsala. The program started with the two-minute silence on the passing away of Late Dr. Sanjay Upretti and Late Yogen Thatal, son of Kuber Thatal, former driver of Singtam Hospital. SGREWA Singtam elects a new executive body

October 01, Singtam: SGREWA Singtam Branch organized its general meeting at Nepali Dharamsala. Present on the occasion were DT Bhutia, President, SGREWA, PL Sharma, General Secretary, SGREWA, TP Koirala, Financial Advisor, SGREWA, GP Tiwari, President SGREWA Pakyong Branch, and members of SGREWA Singtam Branch. The highlights of the meeting included the constitution of the new executive body, discussion on memorandum presented to the government by the central committee, and other welfare activities of the organization. It was decided to submit a memorandum to the government with the request of; the establishment of a dialysis center at District Hospital, Singtam, enhancement of medical relief to the pensioners from Rs 2000 to Rs.5000, and construction of a playground for the Singtam SSS. Retired Government Employees body formed at Singtam

Over 50 retired government employees attended the first-of-its-kind meeting at Shantinagar Monastery premises at Singtam to form a sub-committee of their own on September 4, 2016. TB Pradhan was elected as the President, while the other members included Jayashree Chettri as Vice President, Rinzing R Lhamu and B Waiba as Joint Secretary, PP Upprety as Treasurer, TT Bhutia as Publicity Secretary, Surya Kr. Pradhan, Bhim Das Ghimeray and Rupa Gurung as Joint Secretary.  LN Pradhan was elected as Chief Advisor and additional Advisors included HN Sharma, LP Chettri, Indra Basnet and others.  The meeting was also attended by members of Sikkim Government Retired Employees.
