SINGTAM, AUGUST 7: World’s breastfeeding week was observed by the eight Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) from Singtam surrounding at ICDS Centre, Singtam. The highlight of the program was to share the benefits of the breastfeeding among the nursing mother as well as to the pregnant women. The eight ICDS included Mandir Line, SNT Complex, Daragoan, Goskhan Dara, Pipal Dara, Lal Bazaar, Jubilee Line and Mandi Bazaar had jointly organized the day long program. It was informed in the program that breastfeeding protects the baby from illness and should not be discontinued in minor sickness. Breastfeeding in the initial six months was strictly advised to the infant’s mother. Interaction between the Anganwadi workers and the parents was also held. The eight members ICDS Anganwadi workers included Narmit Lepcha, Sangeeta Pradhan, Pramila Pradhan, Sukmaya Subba, Ningma Doma Tamang, Priyanka Rani Chettri, Tika Subba and Jeena Tamang
