SHINDE EXTENDED HIS ASSURANCE FOR FUTURE POWER VENTURES IN SIKKIM Namchi(SKM)/Siliguri(WB), May 31 : The Union Minister for Power, Government of India, Sushil Kumar Shinde was received at the Namchi Helipad by the Chief Minister, Pawan Chamling. The Union Minister had come to inspect the Nation Power Grid Corporation's new 400/220 kv power sub-station, about 12 km from Siliguri and the construction of '400 KV Teesta Stage-V HEP-New Siliguri Double Circuit Transmission Line' at Phongla, a village situated 20 kms away from Namchi in South Sikkim. He expressed confidence that all villages in the country would be electrified by the end of 2009 as per the programme of the UPA government.
