SICA Organises Umpire Level ‘O’ Course 2020-21

S ikkim Cricket Association (SICA) has organised a five-day Umpire Level ‘O’ Course at Sikkim Cricket Ground, Rangpo . Two experienced faculties – Mr Satrajit Lahiri ( Ranji Panel Umpire , BCCI LVL – C Coach ) and Mr Somnath Jha (Ranji Panel Umpire, BCCI LVL – B Coach ) will be conducting the course. From all four districts of Sikkim , the total 28 candidates are attending the course of which there are eight female candidates and twenty male candidates. The course will be conducted from 25 th  to 29 th  November 2020. Both the faculties were welcomed by Tshewang Lama (Hony Secretary) and Karma Sonam Lhendup (Joint Secretary) of SICA. Alpine Sporting Club lifts men’s Khangchendzonga Shield 2020 cricket tournament

Singtam , November 22: Alpine Sporting Club defeated their rival Black Eagle Sikkim Armed Police by a margin of 125 runs to lift the men’s Khangchendzonga Shield 2020 cricket tournament . More than 60 teams had participated at their prestigious tournament organised by Sikkim Cricket Association . PS Tamang , Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim was the Chief Guest of the day. Other guests included Kunga Nima Bhutia , Hon’ble Minister Sports & Youth Affairs, Education, LR & DM, and Law & Parliamentary Affairs Dept., Karma Loday Bhutia Hon'ble Minister Forest and Environment, Science & Technology Departments, Dr. MK Sharma , Hon’ble Health Minister and others.  PS Tamang, Chief Minister of Sikkim was felicitated by the Sikkim Cricket Association on the ocassion.  Bating first Alpine Sporting Club had a perfect opening wicket partnership of 73 runs between Nilesh Lamichaney (Captain) and Arun Chettri . Team Pandim lifts women’s Khangchendzonga Shield 2020 cricket tournament

Singtam, November 21: Team Pandim defeated Team Kabru by 14 runs to lift the women’s Khangchendzonga Shield 2020 cricket tournament. This was the first women cricket tournament in the state of Sikkim and organised by Sikkim Cricket Association .  Team Pandim batting first scored 115 for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. Samayita Roy Prodhan scored 59 runs with 11 fours in her innings; ably supported by Songkit Lhamoo Lepcha and Tabita Subba who added 16 and 14 runs respectively.   The highlight of the Pandim inning included a 75 run partnership in 74 balls between Songkit Lhamoo Lepcha, Captain and Samayita Roy Prodhan.   Purni Maya Gurung took two wickets for 14 runs from her four overs. Dikcha Gurung took the other wicket. Chasing the total, Team Kabru could only manage 91 runs from their 20 overs loosing eight wickets. Only Nandita Das and Ankita Karki could make double figures (21 & 25). Shristi Rai scalped two wickets giving away 11 runs...

CM promises to make youth equal partners in development

Mining, 7 th April : Pawan Chamling reached Mining, Rangpo , in East Sikkim today on the 9 th day of the 10-day long Sikkim Vijay Sankalp Rally. People from Tumin Lingee , Martam Rumtek, Khamdong Singtam and West Pendam constituencies joined in the event. The event was widely streamed and about 3 lakh people tuned in on social media. Chamling informed the crowd of SDF ’s development plans for the state. Some of these included sanctioning of all pending land allotment cases within 100 days of formation of government, regularisation of Muster Roll (MR) and Ad-hoc jobs, MR jobs to be given to the wife of driver in case of accidental death of the husband, provision of a one-time grant of Rs 5 lakh to those wanting to start new professional businesses, internet and wi-fi connection to be provided to every Gram Panchayat level. He also thanked all Self-help Groups (SHG) for doing tremendous work in the state and added that Rs 1 lakh will be provided to all SHGs. ...
