Indian Idol fame Kapil Thapa from Deharadun and Remo Ghosh from Nagaland promoted the 1st Nagi Pokhari Tourism & Organic Festival 2014-15 at Namthang-South Sikkim from 31st Dec- 2nd Jan. They sent the message that they will visit the Namthang Rateypani constituency someday and will stay for a couple of days at home stays in the Nagi Pokhara area. They further added that they will refer Nagi Pokhari to their fans for a visit. Gangtok: Prayas Band from Gangtok regaled Mangsila crowds with couple of hours of musical treats at 64 th I Day celebration. The four hour long late night musical show held at the premises of Mangsila SSS had more than 300 crowds encouraging the singers in every song they performed.   The lead singer of the band Prakash Sundas, a contestant of Indian Idol 5 from Sikkim went on to sing over two dozen songs in both Nepali and Hindi language. His songs had mixed theme that included patriotic, romantic, classic and latest movie songs. The other singer of the band Amit Gurung went on to sing half a dozen songs that were equally cheered by the gathered crowds. The other members of the bands were Bijay Kumar Rai, Sabin Duraa, Krishna Chettri and Sabeel Hashmi.

Singtam: In one of the rare instance to have been witnessed at Sikkim, Prakash Sundas an upcoming local singer from Gangtok celebrated the 38 th birthday of famed Bollyhood Singer Kailash Kher at Spark NGO office at Singtam on July 7. A cake with the name of Kailash Kher beautifully written was distributed among the members of Spark NGO along with other sweet items. A gorkhay khada was placed at the photo frame of Kailash Kher. Later Prakash Sundas went on to sing more than half a dozen songs of his singing idol. Prakash Sundas is a rising singer from Gangtok who had been to Indian Idol 5 auditions this year and had succeeded in reaching the third round at Mumbai audition. He was the only Sikkimese among more than 20 participants to have cleared the Kolkata auditions. In recent times he had been doing stage shows in different part of the state. Singtam : Sikkim Rock Star, dance and singing based musical show keeping up its promises has sent two of its participants to the auditions of the Indian Idol 5 and Junior Dance India Dance respectively. The show organised by Singbell GPU Construction Cooperative Society Ltd is in its final stage and grand finale is schedule to be held on the last week of April, the coming month.  The music completion had been categorized into three categories that include solo dance, group dance and vocal competition. The music competition had been limited to Hindi and Nepali music only. Winners of both competitions receive the sum of Rs 25,000 each and an opportunity to participate at auditions of National musical shows.
