Chisopani girl Neelam Tamang wins State Level Parotitic Song Competition 2021

August 25, Singtam : Neelam Tamang, from Chisopani, East Sikkim wins State Level Online Patriotic Song Competition 2021 organized by 75 th   Independence Day Celebration Committee, Sang in association with Saphal Films held at Community Hall, Sang. Sajan Baraily and Krishna Dhungel both from Uttaray, East Sikkim and Bermoik Namphing, South Sikkim received 1st and 2nd Runner-Up trophies respectively. The function was started with limited audiences graced by the presence of Sonam Tshering Venchungpa, MLA Martam Rumtek Constituency as the Chief Guest. Blen Tshering Targain, Joint Director, Forest Department was the Guest of Honour of the day. Singtam SSS selects five contestants for ‘School Idol’ finale

SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 9: As part of the regular co-curricular activities Singtam SSS organized the semifinal round of singing competition ‘School Idol’ on November 7 th , 2015. The competition had started from the beginning of the academic session. Semi-final round featured 9 participants. YB Pradhan, Government Contractor was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Gangaa Mukhiya, State Awardee musician was the judge of the competition.  Other guests included BK Rai and SN Pandey, SMC members. The contestants entertained the gathered audience that included Principal, teachers and students. Five contestants were selected for the final round. The program was successfully concluded with a vote of thanks by KB Chettri, Principal.

Singtam Basibiyalo congratulates Singtam’s Geeta Sharma and Gangaa Mukhiya

 May 16, Singtam: Members of Singtam Basibiyalo, a monthly literary and cultural forum met Gangaa Mukhiya and Geeta Sharma recipients of State Civilian Award 2013 at their residence today. They appreciated their success and congratulated them for their honor. Three member team led by Mohan Pradhan “Neeraj”, Sansthapak Singtam Basibiyalo offered Khadas to the awardees. Singtam praises Darjeeling ‘T’ Idol runner-up Geeta Sharma

SINGTAM, JANUARY 5: Singtam Basibiyalo and Badhaichha Creation from Singtam had extended congratulation towards Geeta Sharma for bagging the second position at the recently held Darjeeling ‘T’ Idol, singing competition at Darjeeling. More than 2500 participants had participated in the competition. Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Sansthapak of Singtam Basibiyalo said, “It is really a proud moment for me that my former student and an integral part of our Singtam Basibiyalo family have achieved an honour of standing second at that level. Romeo in Sikkim ; Sikkim’s first Hindi film (1975)

Sikkim became part of the mighty Indian Union in 1975, and in the last 37 years, a small Himalayan kingdom has transformed itself into one of the most beautiful tourist centers in the world. The same year, a milestone was accomplished in Sikkim in the world of Indian Cinema, but more than three decades later, the story seems forgotten by the wheel of the clock. I wanted to be part of the history of reintroducing the stories of Romeo in Sikkim, a Hindi film with a few landmarks still unknown to many. Romeo in Sikkim is the first Hindi film produced by Sikkim and the first Nepali actor to lead in a Bollywood film (Shyam Pradhan). Shyam Pradhan went on to act in another film, the first Hindi-Nepali bilingual feature film that never saw the light of day. The website www.kapilthapaa.com is designed by BP Bajgain and shall be updated by Shital Pradhan. Kapil Thapa was also felicitated for his contribution towards music on the occasion.
