SINGTAM, JULY 20: The grand finale of “Sikkim’s No.1 Dancer 2012-13”, Search for the Sikkim’s best solo dancer for the Junior and Senior categories concluded at Singtam Community Hall on July 18. Mingma Sherpa from Namchi won the title of “Sikkim’s No.1 Dancer” for the Senior Category, while Om Prakash Sewa from Changey, Pakyong was adjudged the winner of the Junior Category. A group dance performance from Step Dance Sensation Academy, Namchi, dedicated to the Uttrakhand nature tragedy, was the major highlight of the day and was highly appreciated by the gathered audience.    Prashant Pradhan and Gyaltsen Bhutia, both from Gangtok, were awarded 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Second Runner-Up in the Senior Category. Singtam, February 24: The State Level National Integration Camp concluded at Singtam Community Hall today. The week-long camp (February 18-24) was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Sikkim and sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports, Government of India. More than 150 participants from seven states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and the host state of Sikkim had participated in the camp. Mrs Mamoo Subba, a senior citizen and a social worker from Singtam was felicited at 32nd Basibiyalo meet at Singtam Community Hall yesterday. She was accompanied by her husband Shri Ganesh Rai.  Mrs Mamoo Subba, Lady Health Visitor of Health and Family Welfare Department became the first Sikkimese to receive the national award for nursing on August 8, 1985.
