SGREWA Singtam Branch Honours Shri Kunjilal Mintri for Exemplary Service to Society

10.03.24: The Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association (SGREWA), Singtam Branch, expressed joy in honouring Shri Kunjilal Mintri of Om Himalayan Medical Hall, Singtam Bazaar.  Shri Mintri had been providing the SGREWA members 12% discount on medicines and a 10% discount on diagnostics.  Recognizing his commendable contribution to society as a thriving entrepreneur, SGREWA extends best wishes for sound health, continued success, and a flourishing career. Smt. Hansa Rai read the commendation, while Shri CP Pradhan presented the memento.  Further, in his speech, Shri Mintri thanked the members for the honour and shared his best practices in helping society, he further announced that he had increased the discounts of 15% on medicines.  The felicitation ceremony took place on March 8, 2024, with warm regards from the association's members at their office. SGREWA applauds individuals like Shri Kunjilal Mintri for their positive impact on the community.

Singtam Government Retired Employees Celebrate Nepali New Year and Ambedkar Jayanti

Singtam, Sikkim - On March 14th, 2023, the Singtam Branch of the Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association (SGREWA) celebrated Baisakhi, the Nepali New Year, at their office premises. The event was a joyous occasion, featuring poetry recitation, singing, and talks about the origins of Baisakhi and the late Dr. BR Ambedkar. Distinguished guests in attendance included Shri Dorjee Sherpa, Deputy Director of the Education Department at Khamdong BAC, Dr. JB Gurung, and members of SGREWA Singtam Branch and Tumin Lingi Branch. Shri Madan Sapkota and Shri NK Dahal from Makha represented SGREWA Tumin Lingi Branch. The celebration was hosted by Smt. SGREWA Singtam Branch condemn referring Sikkimey Nepalese as "foreigners"

03.02.23 - At a weekly meeting of the Sikkim Government Retired Employee Welfare Association, Singtam Branch, today in its office at Mandi Bazaar, Singtam, the following resolutions were adopted. 1. The SGREWA, Singtam Branch condemns the verdict referring to Sikkimey Nepalese as "foreigners" and wiping out our identity, the word 'Sikkimey'.   2. SGREWA Singtam wholeheartedly supports the efforts of JAC in working towards the re-tarnishing of the identity of the Nepali community as a foreigner. 3. The organization supports peaceful movements and opposes violence.

Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch felicitates Doctors

Singtam, 11.06.22: Members of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch organised a meeting cum felicitation program at Nepali Dharamsala, Singtam on June 10. The highlight of the meeting was the felicitation of ‘Doctor’ children of the members of SGREWA Singtam, the welcoming of new members and a discussion of important matters for the development of the organisation. The felicitated personalities included Dr Bhumika Dulal, Dr Saurav Sutradhar, Dr Shikha Poudyal, Dr Prasana Rai and Dr Rachana Rai. Smt. Laxmi Shilal, recently retired as Deputy Secretary of Health Department was the chairperson of the day. Talks on the upliftment of the organisation, important updates on the pension book, and financial updates were shared by different speakers in the meeting. SNP President inaugurates SGREWA Singtam Branch office

December 27, Singtam : Suresh Tamang, President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat inaugurated the Singtam Branch Office of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association at Old Shopping Complex, Mandi Bazaar, Singtam. Present on the occasion were Yad Kri Kami, Kishore Chettri (Coun cillors, SNP), Dr. Tempo Bhutia, CMO, District Hospital Singtam, Krishna Chettri, President, Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti, Mahesh Dahal, Headmaster, Dipudara PS and members of SRGEWA Singtam. The second session of the program was organised at Bihari Dharamsala. The program started with the two-minute silence on the passing away of Late Dr. Sanjay Upretti and Late Yogen Thatal, son of Kuber Thatal, former driver of Singtam Hospital. SGREWA Singtam elects a new executive body

October 01, Singtam: SGREWA Singtam Branch organized its general meeting at Nepali Dharamsala. Present on the occasion were DT Bhutia, President, SGREWA, PL Sharma, General Secretary, SGREWA, TP Koirala, Financial Advisor, SGREWA, GP Tiwari, President SGREWA Pakyong Branch, and members of SGREWA Singtam Branch. The highlights of the meeting included the constitution of the new executive body, discussion on memorandum presented to the government by the central committee, and other welfare activities of the organization. It was decided to submit a memorandum to the government with the request of; the establishment of a dialysis center at District Hospital, Singtam, enhancement of medical relief to the pensioners from Rs 2000 to Rs.5000, and construction of a playground for the Singtam SSS. Singtam Retired Employees meeting held

  Singtam, August 31: Executive members of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch held a meeting at the residence of Shri LN Pradhan to discuss different matters of importance of the association. Shri TB Pradhan, President, SGREWA, Singtam Branch was the chairperson of the meeting. A proposed general meeting on September 30, 2021, at Nepali Dharamsala was decided. Membership drive for the newly retired individuals and selection of new executive members to be done at the general meeting was passed on. The General Secretary of the Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association shall also be invited to attend the meeting. Besides, it was decided to request the government set up a dialysis unit at District hospital Singtam. It was also discussed to hold a health camp for the members particularly on cardiology in consultation with the Hon’ble Health Minister and Dr. DP Rai, Head of Cardiology Department on the month of October.  ...

SGREWA, Singtam Branch contributes Rs. 50,000 towards CM’s Relief fund

SINGTAM, APRIL 1 : Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch has contributed the sum of Rs. 50,000 towards Chief Minister's Relief Fund to fight against COVID-19. The sum amount was deposited at State Bank of Sikkim, Singtam branch yesterday. We are with the Sikkim Government at this moment of time who is much concerned about the people of Sikkim.
