National Florence Nightingale Awardee Smt. Ambika Pradhan Welcomed in Rangpo

RANGPO, SIKKIM - June 25, 2023: Smt. Ambika Pradhan, a Lady Health Visitor (LHV) at STNM Hospital, Sochakgang, was warmly welcomed by her family members and esteemed organizations at Atal Bridge, Rangpo upon receiving the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award for the year 2023 in New Delhi from the President of India.  Returning to Rangpo, Smt. Ambika Pradhan was greeted by a heartfelt reception organized by Shiv Lata Pariwar, named after the Late Siba Narayan Pradhan and Late Nirlata Pradhan. The event was attended by over sixty family members who celebrated her remarkable achievements. Smt. Ambika Pradhan, is the grand-daughter of Shiv-Lata and the daughter of Late Ghanashyam Pradhan, the eldest son of Shiv Lata.  During the program, members of her family presented Smt. SGSS Felicitates The Poet Idol Finalist Neelam Gurung

Singtam, April 14th, 2023 – The Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti (SGSS) organized a two-phase program on April 14th, 2023, to commemorate the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, the father of the Indian Constitution. The program was held at the Badminton Court in Shantinagar, Singtam and the Rangpo Tourism Office. In the morning session, Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated at the Badminton Court, Shantinagar attended by Deepa Chettri, Panchayat Shantinagar Ward, and members of the SGSS. The program began with the offering of khada to the frame of the great leader of India. Nisu Dulal, the General Secretary of the organization, spoke about the day’s program. Shital Pradhan, a member of the Samiti, emphasized the importance of the Indian Constitution to the gathered audience. Rangpo has an emotional attachment to me; my mother was a government school teacher, and I spent the first two years of my life there. Rangpo Government School (1980) This photo presentation is from a series of photographs dating to 1910 attributed to Absolute Vintage Photos. Rangpo, a business hub and a historic town, is today a vital border town of Sikkim, the gateway to eastern Sikkim. Since the monarchy days, the vehicles have stopped being checked, and foreigners need the required documents even to this day.

SIKKIM THIS WEEK (APRIL 13 - APRIL 18)

APRIL 13 DZULUK : The Forest department had issued eviction notices to 84 families in Dzuluk near Changu, East Sikkim for alleged encroaching of the forest land. The notice mentioned that the families had made illegal houses in the area. Further, the notice issued on April 7 reads the removal of houses in the next 15 days. file pic RANGPO : Officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, members of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat, and Rangpo Police visited meat stalls at Rangpo and Majhitar. Most of the meat stalls were found unhygienic and cleanliness was not maintained. The owners of the stalls were given orders to close down their shops for three days and maintain proper hygienic surroundings. New Heaven Dance Institute re-inaugurated at Rangpo

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 18:   Swaminath Prasad, President, Sikkim Bihari Jagaran Manch inaugurated the New Heaven Dance Academy opposite of Vital Clinic at Rangpo on December 16. Distinguished guests to attend the program included Sanjay Agarwal and Dipak Gurung, members of the Press Club of Sikkim, Johny Rai, Social Media-man from Singtam, Bhim Sharma and Shital Pradhan, teachers, and others.  After a hiatus of four years, New Heaven Dance Institute is making a re-start at Rangpo. Bishnu Suman is the Director cum Dance Choreographer of New Heaven Dance Institute and also the man behind so many successful dancers that have won accolades in and beyond the state of Sikkim. Opening of Passenger Reservation System at Singtam

 NEWS FIRST PUBLISHED ON SIKKIM EXPRESS (15/03/07) NEWS BY SHITAL PRADHAN Passenger Reservation System (PRS) was opened at Singtam SNT Office on 15/03/07. The opening function was graced by Dr C. Ethenpa, Chief Medical Officer, District Hospital, Singtam as Chief Guest. Senior citizens, local leaders, Govt. Officials and the officers from the Telephone Exchange, Singtam, 60 in numbers were present on the occasion.  Shri L. N. Pradhan, Jt. Secretary SNT, Rangpo while delivering a welcome address urged all to be benefited from the PRS.
