17.09.23: Singtam Fountain Point witnessed a momentous event as the Indian Swachhata League 2.0 commenced with great enthusiasm on its inaugural day. On March 31, 2023, Sakyong Chisopani Junior High School hosted an awareness program on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative. In addition, it opened a new school playground. Notable people attended the event, including Mr Sotai Kri, the North East Swachh Bharat Mission Ambassador, and Mr Bimal Lamichaney, the Sikkim State Swachh Bharat Ambassador, Suresh Tamang, President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat, Sanjay Agarwal, Rangpo Nagar Panchayat Brand Ambassador, Praja Pradhan, Gangtok District Ambassador, MEO Singtam, Timku Adhikari, Singtam Brand Ambassador among others.  The program was designed to raise awareness about cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative in schools. SHANTINAGAR : Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 150th Gandhi Jayanti by conducting cleanliness drive near Badminton court along Ranikhola walkway and National Highway 10 at Shantinagar, Singtam. Chief Advisor, L. N. Pradhan lighted the lamp and addressed the gathered crowd about importance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness around our surroundings. SINGTAM, NOVEMBER 29:  Members of Shantinagar Goan Sudhar Samiti organized a cleanliness drive along the Joggers Footpath below Shantinagar river side. More than 30 members of the organization participated in the drive that was held under Swatcha Bharat Abhiyan.  Members of all age, men and women were involved in the cleanliness drive. The team was led by Mohan Sunar, President, Shantinagar Goan Sudhar Samiti. Joggers Footpath at Singtam is a popular footpath that stretches from Singtam Lal Bazaar to Shantinagar. 

SINGTAM, SEPTEMBER 27:   Sawney Primary School, West Pandam, East Sikkim, joined with the rest of India to observe Prime Minister Narendra Modi's month-long nationwide "Swacha Bharat Abhiyan” from today.  A cleanliness drive along the school premises was observed. Mohan Pradhan' Neeraj’, Headmaster of the school, spoke about the importance of the day in a small program held at school premises.  Cleanliness has always been our primary concern in school, and we are happy that this time, we are observing a nationwide program, said Pradhan. He added that every student has the opportunity to be an example in society, and he encouraged each individual to be prepared for it.
