Congratulation to Amisha Kami for 74th Republic Day participation

06.02.23: I congratulate Amisha Kami for representing the state of Sikkim at the 74th Republic Day in Delhi. She is a former student of Sakyong Chisopani JHS and currently studies at Singtam SSS in Class X. More than 1.3 million NCC cadets applied for participation. Still, only 2,155 (including 710 girls) got a chance to participate. Four NCC Cadets from our Sikkim state were selected for the highest event in various disciplines. All the cadets had taken part in a month-long camp in Delhi.  Among the state representatives, Amisha Kami, 1 Sikkim BN, was the only singer. She was the finalist at the national level Vocal Music - Classical (Female) Category at the National Level Kala Utsav 2021-2022 held at NCERT, New Delhi. Congratulation and blessings to you.

SGSS celebrates 74th R’Day; felicitates its three members

27.01.2023, Singtam : Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 74th Republic Day at Badminton Court, Shantinagar, Singtam. Mrs Keemti Rai, Assistant Commissioner, Commercial Tax Department, Rangpo, the Chief Guest of the day unfurled the tricolour flag. This event also saw a first as a photo frame of Bharat Mata was offered flowers after the national anthem by all the guests. The highlight of the day was the launch of SGSS’s annual calendar and felicitation program. Other distinguished guests included – Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, Somanth Pandey, Sarad Lama, SK Rai and others. Keemti Rai, the Chief Guest and other guests released Samiti's calendar for the year 2023. TB Pradhan, KN Dulal and KB Sundas, all Advisors of the Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti were felicitated for their contribution towards the upliftment of society. Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrates 73rd Republic Day

26.01.22 : Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti joined the rest of India to celebrate the 73rd Republic Day with the release of Samiti's annual magazine 'The Voice' and SGSS Calendar 2022. Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, the chief guest of the day unfurled the National Tricolour flag.   The program was limited to the felicitation program and release of Samaj magazine, documentation of activities done by the Samiti since its establishment in 2009, and the new year calendar owing to the Covid pandemic. The Advisor to HCM released both the magazine and the calendar. SGSS Meritorious Scholarship for the session 2022 was awarded to Bisha Rai, daughter of Harka Rai, member of SGSS. She was handed over a cheque of Rs. 6000. The amount was sponsored by LN Pradhan, Advisor, SGSS. Shantinagar celebrates 72nd Republic Day

Singtam, January 26 : 72 nd  Republic Day was observed by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti (SGSS) at Badminton Court near Rani Khola Walkway.  Highlight of the day was the Annual General Meeting, launching of Samiti’s Calendar and felicitation of distinguished personalities of the society.  SK Rai, AD, Singtam Food Godown was the Chief Guest of the day while SB Gurung, SHO, Singtam Police Station was the Guest of Honour of the day. Other distinguished guests included Sundar Rai, AEO, Khamdong BAC, representatives of different organizations, members of SGSS and others. The National Tri Colour flag was hoisted by SK Rai that was followed by recitation of the national anthem. Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS in his welcome speech spoked about the role of organization in the society and different initiatives taken by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti over the years. SGSS celebrates 71st RD; Tarundeep, Jitu and Lil Bdr Chettri congratulated for Padma Awards

SINGTAM, JANUARY 26:   71 st Republic Day was celebrated at Badminton Court, Near Rani Khola Walkway by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Members of all walk of age attended the two hour long program. Krishna Chettri, President SGSS and with Deo Kumari Pradhan, the senior most member of the Samiti hoisted the flag. In his speech, Chettri spoked of united India and proud India. Shital Pradhan, member SGSS spoked about the importance of the day. Tarundeep Rai, Jitu Rai and Nil Bahadur were congratulated for receiving the Padma Shri, fourth highest civilian award of India. Sishir Pradhan was the host of the day. Sweets were distributed on the occasion.

Shantinagar celebrates 69th Republic Day

Shantinagar, January 26:  Members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated the 69th Republic Day with joy and enthusiasm at the Badminton Court near Rani Khola Walkway.  Nandu Dutraj, President of the Sri Seti Sangha Devi Mandir Committee and a prominent social worker, was the day's Chief Guest. Also present on the occasion were Deepa Chettri, Panchayat Shantinagar ward, Krishna Chettri, President SGSS, all executive members, Advisors, and members of Samiti.  The Chief Guest unfurled the national flag, and people of all ages sang the national anthem. The other highlight of the day was a boxing exhibition match between the students of Pritam Silal, a former National Boxer. PP Upretti, Vice President of SGSS, hosted the event. Phadamchen Republic Day

RONGLI: JANUARY 28: SSB, Panchayats and Ngo members celebrated 66 th Republic Day at Phadamchen SSB camp. Binay Singh, Commanding Officer, SSB was present as a chief guest and hosted the national flag. Zangmu Sherpa, Panchayat Vice President, Sonam Thendup Sherpa, Panchayat Secretary, Raju Jairu, Jan Kalyan Nehru Yuwa Sammiti (NGO) gave the brief about republic day. LT Bhutia Zaluk PS, Ang Tashi Sherpa, Phadamchen Police Out Post, public, NGO representatives was also present. At the end of the program sweets were distributed to the children.

20 - Chujachen constituency celebrated Republic Day

RONGLI: JANUARY 28: 20 - Chujachen constituency celebrated Republic Day at Rongli Sub-Division office. Bikram Pradhan, area MLA cum Chief Whip hosted the national flag and received the guard of honour which was given by Rongli police. Other guests included SDM, SDPO, BDO, Officer In-charge, Rongli PS, Sub-Division level officers, panchayats, ex-panchyats, youths, chelli, students of livelihood school Chujachen and ohers. Somnath Adhikari, SDM gave the welcome speech and read out the Republic Day Message of HE Governor of Sikkim. Patriotic song ‘jaya janma bhumi swadesh, jaya bharat hamro desh’ was presented by livelihood school. Bikram Pradhan spoked on the importance of the day and read out the Republic Day message of HCM of Sikkim. Purusotam Pradhan, DRCS gave the vote of thanks while Bhim Pradhan was the Master of ceremony.

Message of Chief Minister on the occasion of Republic Day 2008

Respected fellow citizens, On the auspicious occasion of the 58th Anniversary of the Indian Republic, I extend very warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Sikkim. This very day in 1950, the citizens of India gave unto themselves the written Constitution to guide and nurture our great Country and to chart out the destiny of the new Nation. Sikkim which joined the Indian mainstream later in 1975 has been guided by the ideals and principles as enshrined in our Constitution for emerging from the past to a vibrant State.  When Pt. Nehru unfurled the tricolour from the rampart of Red Fort, it was indeed a beginning infused with a grand vision and solemn pledges to restore the dignity and self-respect of millions of the population. Our Constitution over the years has provided us with a broad framework to conduct ourselves to the best of our abilities on the basis of democratic principles and traditions as laid down by the forefathers of our Constitution.  We can realize that...
