GANGTOK, November 07: NRT Nepal won the 29 th All India Governor’s Gold Cup by defeating Three Star, Nepal with two goals to one. The team romped home with the overall team champions’ trophy alongside a cash prize worth Rs 1, 50, 000 after having scored a footing victory. The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling declared the tournament closed here at the Paljor Stadium today afternoon. For the jubilant team, the duo goals were scored by Niranjan Raimajhi and Bal Gopal Shaukhal in the first 19 th and in the last 59 th minutes of the overall 90 minutes game. The 29th All India Governor’s Gold Cup Football Tournament 2007 was concluded on November 7 with an exhilarating final match between the two tough teams of the tournament and the home rivals NRT Nepal and Three Star (Nepal). The Chief Minister Pawan Chamling witnessed the grand final of the tournament as chief guest on the occasion. The two rival teams from Nepal fought against each other from the beginning of the match. In the 19th minute of the match, Niranjan Raimajhi (9) of NRT Nepal scored the opening goal. Fighting back, Three Star’s most promising player Jumanu Rai (11) scored a spectacular equalizer by a sure shot from D-box area in the 32nd minute.
