RONGLI, MAY 28: : In one of a rare initiative of the state, an awareness plantation of fruits and vegetables saplings in the reserve forest of Baklakha was organized by the Scouts & Guides Unit and Generous Students of Dalapchand SS on May 25. The awareness plantation was held in presence of Scout Master, School teachers, S.M.C, Panchyat (GPU, Dalapchand), members of local NGOs and guardians. The press release reads, the idea was taken keeping in view the ongoing clash between wild animals and local people. The main objective was to provide sufficient food for animals in the forest such that they don’t have to invade the human’s habitation. Around 70 students that included Scouts & Guides Unit and Generous Students of Dalapchand SS from class vi to x had participated in the awareness program. RONGLI, APRIL 28: A picnic cum cleanliness drive was organized by Scouts and Guides (Dalapchand SS) and Generous Student Dalapchand SS at Lampokhari on April 28.  Chandra Maya Rai, Panchayat President, MK Rai, Panchayat Secretary, Teaching and non-teaching faculties of Dalapchand SS and the students were present on the occasion. CD Rai, senior teacher of Dalapchand SS enlightened the gathering about the cleanliness drive and the role of Generous Students. Rai went on to speak about different activities carried by Generous Student Dalapchand SS in the last couple of years. Chandra Maya Rai, Panchayat President expressed her happiness about the activities conducted by Dalapchand SS and promised to support the school for other social causes. DALAPCHAND, SEPTEMBER 18: Dalapchand SS observed two minute silence on its school assembly to mourn the first anniversary of Sikkim Earthquake today. ST Bhutia, Headmaster of the school informed the students about the natural disaster that crippled the Himalayan state of Sikkim, last year. UN Mishra, senior teacher of the school also spoke on the occasion. Generous Students, a student forum of the Dalapchand SS had helped distribute blankets to the earthquake affected areas of Rongli, Dalapchand, Pacha, Deoling and Chandaney. Sangam Rai student said we felt sorry for those who lost their lives and we all pray for their soul. Prabha Sharma, student added we are together with the affected families and we wish such moments never repeat in days to come.

DALAPCHAND, JUNE 14: Generous Students of Dalapchand Secondary School yesterday visited the landslide affected areas of Rolep. The six boy’s students accompanied by three teachers CD Rai, SD Bhutia and Shital Pradhan met the affected families and offered deep condolence and sorrow towards the untimely death of their families. The Generous Students also handed over a sum of Rs 3220 towards the Rolep Relief Fund to the Area MLA who had also came to Rolep with relief resources for the affected families. Generous Students of Dalapchand Secondary School is a student forum of Dalapchand SS that had been actively participating at social help since its formation last year. Last year, this forum had played an active role in the distribution of blankets during 18/9 Sikkim Earthquake at different areas of Rongli.
