Namchi, Sikkim - June 14, 2023 - Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti (SGSS) was honoured with a memento and certificate from the World Book of Records, London, and an International Life Saver Certificate from the National Integrated Forum of Artists & Activists (NIFAA), a national-level organization based in Karnal, Haryana. The esteemed accolades were presented to Krishna Chettri, President of SGSS, at the Samvedna Certificate Distribution ceremony held at Officer's Club, Namchi.  The event, organized by NIFAA Sikkim State, celebrated the successful completion of the Largest One Day Blood Donation Campaign, acknowledged by World Book of Records, London that took place on March 23, 2021, in multiple locations across India, including Sikkim. 23.03.21: Eleven members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti donated their blood at the Samvedna International Blood and Plasma Donation Camp 2021 at District Hospital Singtam. Out of eleven; two of them were women. The program was organised by NIFAA (National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists) India and co-organised by NIFAA Sikkim state (Singtam Branch).      On the occasion, SGSS was also presented with a memento and a certificate for the generous support towards NIFAA Sikkim during the camp. The memento was presented by Praveen Pradhan, President NIFAA Sikkim.      Krishna Chettri, President SGSS, an AB Negative blood group belonging to the rare blood group was asked to stay prepared any time by the blood bank officers, so he did not have his blood donated today.   March 1, Singtam : The final coordination meeting for the upcoming Samvedna event was attended by NIFAA State Executive members, Krishna Chettri - President SGSS, Kripesh Singh - President KASS, TR Baniya - Lower Lingchey Uttam Samaj, Md Zamil - President United Front, Gangtok and others. The meet was held at Nepali Dharamsala, Singtam.   The major highlight of the meeting was talk on Samvedna, a nationwide blood and plasma donation awareness campaign. The campaign shall be held on March 23, 2021 in 28 states and 8 Union Territories of India. More than 90,000 units of blood is expected to be collected from 1500 different venues of India. The campaign is also for an attempt at Guinness Book of World Record, told Bikash Pradhan, Chief Coordinator, NIFAA Sikkim Unit. SINGTAM, DECEMBER 12: Eleven members of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti donated blood at Blood Bank District Hospital Singtam on December 11. The blood donation program was done for the contribution towards the development of the society as mentioned at the Samiti’s memorandum. From the eleven individuals; two were women. SINGTAM, JUNE 1 : Members of Newa Bhay Bowneykuthi, Singtam Sakha under Sikkim Newar Guthi conducted a one-day blood donation camp at District Hospital Singtam. Twelve individuals both male and female participated in the donation camp.   Popular cine star Uttam Pradhan, a member of NBB also visited the hospital to encourage the noble cause. Speaking on the occasion, Binod Pradhan, President of NBB said, we had been talking with the hospital management regarding the necessity of blood and it was an appropriate time for us also to help them at this need of the hour. The hospital authority had requested the members to remain on standby for the next blood donation camp to be held at District Hospital Singtam on June 5 (Friday) as such only 12 members contributed the blood donation, today.
