Sikkim's Roshan Prasad's Literary Achievement at EPAEX 2024 Stamp Exhibition

  04.03.24: Roshan Prasad , a renowned philatelist hailing from Singtam , Sikkim , won the Large Silver award in the Literature Class at the EPAEX 2024 Stamp Exhibition held in Dubai , United Arab Emirates for his recently released book “ The Stamp Chronicles – A Journey Through Philately ” which was released at the Sikkim Awards 2023 by the Honorable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay). The Exhibition was organised by Emirates Philatelic Association between 28th February – 3rd March 2024 at Dragon Mart 2 , Dubai to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of UAE – China diplomatic relations and to promote philately in the region where 66 participants from 9 countries participated. Roshan Prasad Shines at Thailand 2023 World Stamp Championship with Silver and Silver Bronze Honours

BANGKOK, December 02: Roshan Prasad, a renowned Philatelist, Author and Philatelic designer from Singtam, Sikkim bag Silver for his stamp collection on Cricket “The Story of Cricket” and Sliver Bronze for his first book “The Stamp Collector’s Dictionary” at the World Stamp Championship “Thailand 2023” held between 27 th November to 2 nd December at The Grand Postal Building, Bangkok, Thailand. Philatelists from Sikkim and Darjeeling felicitated at Siliguri HPO

On March 24, the Government of India's Department of Posts, North Bengal & Sikkim Region, honored three philatelists for their outstanding performance in the National Level Stamp Exhibition. The event took place during the inauguration of the Siliguri Philatelic Bureau. Roshan Prasad of Sikkim, Vivek Yonzone of Darjeeling, and Uday Mani Pradhan of Darjeeling were recognized for their exceptional efforts and dedication to the art of philately.  All three won medals at the National Level Stamp Exhibition held earlier this year. 16.02.23, Singtam : Roshan Prasad , a popular philatelist from Sikkim wins a Silver at AMRITPEX 2023 National Philatelic Exhibition . The event was held in Delhi from 11th to 15th February 2023 and organized by The Department of Posts , Government of India in consultation with the Ministry of Culture and Philatelic Congress of India . Prasad wins his sixth medal in the National Philatelic Exhibition on his theme ‘ The story of Cricket ’, a five-frame exhibit of cricket philately . Sikkim Post releases first Picture Post Cards series on Sikkim

25.11.22, Singtam : Four picture postcard on the theme of Sikkim was released by Ms J. Charukesi , the Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal Circle on a program held at Gangtok . Presence on the occasion was Mr Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, Postmaster General and Mr Naseef Abdul Kader, IA&AS Deputy Accountant General (Audit) Sikkim. The program was organised by the Department of Posts, Sikkim, Gangtok . Roshan Prasad , an eminent stamp collector and philatelic cover designer from Singtam had designed the four postcards – Mount Kanchenjunga , Tsomgo Lake , Red Panda and Blood Pheasant . Speaking on the occasion, Chief Post Master General appreciated the contribution of Prasad in designing the postcards and assured support of the Sikkim Philatelic Society in promoting philately in Sikkim.

Governor of Sikkim releases two Special Covers designed by Singtam’s Roshan Prasad

12.10.22, Singtam: His Excellency the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad, unveiled two special covers on October 11, 2022, during an event held at Raj Bhawan, Gangtok. The covers were designed by Roshan Prasad. Singtam-based philatelist and medalist Roshan Prasad created both the covers of Bakery Snacks Confectionary Products and Ginger Based Products. His work on this Special Cover was his ninth overall. The cover was an initiative of the Government of India highlighting "One District One Product" on the occasion of National Postal Week from October 9th through October - 13th, 2022. SPS has welcomed Col. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey and Shri Ravi Lama, the newly appointed Postmaster General, Sikkim Postal Division, and Deputy Superintendent of Posts, Sikkim Postal Division. Sikkim Philately will undoubtedly benefit from the new height adds Ganesh Pradhan, President, of  Sikkim Philatelic Society.

Roshan Prasad bag’s Large Silver in Royalpex Stamp Exhibition in New Zealand

03.03.22, Singtam : Roshan Prasad, a popular philatelist from Singtam, Sikkim has won an International Medal at  Royalpex 2021, Central Energy Trust Arena, Palmerston North, New Zealand. His  five-frame exhibits on the topic " The Story of Cricket" organized  as  per the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP) rules  won Large Silver  in the thematic class of the exhibition.  Over a hundred participants had participated in the exhibition from countries like Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Denmark, etc. He is a member of the Philatelic Congreeeof India, Emirates Philatelic Association, and Sikkim Philatelic & Numismatic Society.  Shital Pradhan, Secretary, Sikkim Philatelic and Numismatic Society has congratulated him for his success and wished him many more successes in days to come. Roshan Prasad wins his first International Literature medal on Philately

SINGTAM, MARCH 8: Sikkim Philatelist Roshan Prasad added another feather to his International Philatelic medals when he bagged a bronze medal at the Stamp Exhibition EPAEX 2020 – Dubai held on March 3-7, 2020 at Dragon Mart 2, Dubai, UAE. He won his medal for his book – The Stamp Collector’s Dictionary. Eight countries had participated in the exhibition that was organised by Emirates Philatelic Associati on.  Earlier he had won Vermeil in Saudi Arabia, two Silvers at Taipei and Dubai, and now his fourth medal too at Dubai. His three international medals were on his cricket philately while this year’s bronze medal was won at a literature class. In addition, he has also won four medals at National Philatelic Exhibitions. Sikkim Philatelist wins Bronze in INPEX-2019

SINGTAM , December 22: Roshan Prasad from Singtam, Sikkim , wins bronze in Literature class at INPEX-2019 ( National Philatelic Exhibition ) at World Trade Center , Mumbai today. The exhibition was organized by the Philatelic Congress of India from 18 to 22 December 2019 in collaboration with the Department of Posts, India . He is a popular philatelist with International recognition and is also the Treasurer of the Sikkim Philatelic & Numismatic Society. Over 250 participants from various states of India participated in the competition. Roshan Prasad from Sikkim, India wins a silver at “EPAEX 2018” Dubai Stamp Exhibition. The exhibition was organized by “The Emirates Philatelic Association” with co-operation of Dragon Mart that was held from 6 – 10 March 2018 in Dragon Mart 2, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to celebrate “Year of Zayed” and to promote every aspect of philately in the region. It is the 7th Stamp Exhibition hosted in the UAE. Prasad won Silver Medal in Thematic Category of Philately (Stamp Collection). Sikkim Philatelic Society receives two silvers at National Philatelic Exhibition

SINGTAM, DECEMBER 7: Ganesh Pradhan, President Sikkim Philatelic, and Numismatic Society (SPNS) had congratulated both Roshan Prasad and Vivek Yonzone for grabbing silver medals each at recently concluded INPEX 2017 held at World Trade Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra. Pradhan in his words had said both the philatelists had brought laurel and recognition to the society. Sikkim Philatelists savor success at National Philatelic Exhibition

{ A small state of Sikkim won Silver and four Bronze medals at the recent National Philatelic Exhibition held at Ohkla, New Delhi on December 10-12 but the greatest achievement Sikkim made at the event was it made its presence felt among the other states. }  I last participated at the National Philatelic Exhibition in Chennai in December 2008 and the moment I found my possibility to be part of the Delhi National Exhibition I could not let my excitement go off. The organizing committee wanted me to be the State Representative of my state which I happily agreed to. There was an expectation that Sikkim would send a maximum entry at the exhibition to which I am crossing my fingers. I had a talk with Ganesh Pradhan, President of Sikkim Philatelic Society and he too voiced that we should send more entries than the last exhibition. Sikkim Philatelic Society congratulates medal winners of National Philatelic Exhibition

Ganesh Pradhan, President of Sikkim Philatelic Society Roshan Prasad Singtam: Ganesh Pradhan, President of the Sikkim Philatelic Society, on behalf of the club, has congratulated the young budding philatelists from Sikkim who bagged five medals at the recent National Philatelic Exhibition held at Okhla, New Delhi. Sikkim won Silver and three Bronze Medals in the Senior Category along with another Bronze in the Youth Section. In his message, Ganesh Pradhan said that Sikkim was represented by 9 philatelists, which had as many as six philatelists participating in a national event for the first time.
