Heartwarming Farewell: A Look Back on 10 Years at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

02.09.23: In a heart-warming and emotional atmosphere, Mrs. Nirmala Sharma Madam and I participated in our farewell program at Sakyong Chisopani JHS . It was a truly special moment when I had the honour of receiving a Letter of Appreciation from the esteemed hands of Shri PB Subba , our Headmaster. What's more, I was absolutely delighted to be presented with a captivating and exquisitely hand-drawn portrait of myself, a true work of art, gifted by Shri Arbin Chettri, the talented GT Science student of the school. The Khadas and thoughtful gifts offered by my fellow staff filled me with deep emotions. The individual gifts brought by some of my dear students left me speechless, overwhelmed by their kindness and thoughtfulness. Fond Farewell to a Beloved Sakyong Chisopani JHS

03.07.23: With a heavy heart, I gather my thoughts to pen down these lines. Today marks the end of an era as I bid adieu to this beloved school. It seems like just yesterday when I embarked on this journey. Reflecting upon the last decade, I feel immense gratitude for the opportunities that came my way.  Along this path, I had the privilege of working with three exceptional Headmasters: Shri Mahesh Dahal , Shri Satish Chandra Pradhan , and Shri PB Subba , and senior teachers like Smt. Gita Pradhan , Shri DP Pandey , Shri LN Sharma , Shri TR Baniya , Shri CM Chettri , and Shri Arjun Chettri . Each of them imparted valuable wisdom over time, introducing me to different teaching approaches and the fundamental principles of school administration through our enriching conversations on uplifting the institution. SBA NE Sotal Kri Lead the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Campaign at Sikkim School

On March 31, 2023, Sakyong Chisopani Junior High School hosted an awareness program on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative. In addition, it opened a new school playground. Notable people attended the event, including Mr Sotai Kri, the North East Swachh Bharat Mission Ambassador, and Mr Bimal Lamichaney, the Sikkim State Swachh Bharat Ambassador, Suresh Tamang, President, Singtam Nagar Panchayat, Sanjay Agarwal, Rangpo Nagar Panchayat Brand Ambassador, Praja Pradhan, Gangtok District Ambassador, MEO Singtam, Timku Adhikari, Singtam Brand Ambassador among others.  The program was designed to raise awareness about cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative in schools. Mr Dorjee Sherpa, the Khamdong BAC Deputy Director, emphasized the importance of cleanliness and the department's initiatives towards the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in schools. A strange-looking cloud i saw on December 2, 2021

It is more than a coincidence that exactly a year ago, I clicked a strange-looking cloud from the balcony of my Sakyong Chisopani JHS, and on the same date this year, from the same school premises, I clicked photographs of a moving object in the sky that is not a cloud or a fighter plane contrail. My sky-gazing interest made me research what other sky events occurred that day/night across the globe, and interestingly, I came to know that on that night, across the north Indian states of India, including the state of Punjab, a  strange-looking line of bright lights  moving across the sky.  The photograph of the bright lines did look similar to the ones I took the photographs on that day; the only thing was that the cloud-like image I saw moved like a cloud. 02.12.21: Photographed from Sakyong Chisopani JHS Mysterious lights spotted in the sky in northern India leave many people puzzled. Sakyong Chisopani JHS observed World Environment Day 2022

  06.06.22: Sakyong Chisopani JHS observed World Environment Day with the plantation drive of 145 different flowering and non-flowering saplings around the school premises. There were also fruit saplings. PB Subba, Headmaster of the school in his address informed the students of the postponed plantation festival due to yesterday’s holiday. He spoke about the importance of plants in our daily lives. Chodenla Tamang, School Captain also spoke about the need to preserve and conserve the plants for the next generation.

No Smoking Day observed at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

31.05.22: No Smoking Day was observed at Sakyong Chisopani JHS with talks on social issues affecting society. Present on occasion were the School’s staff and students, members of Chisopani GPUs, members of SMCs, guardians and others. Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister to Sikkim had graced the occasion as the chief guest cum resource person for the anti-drug campaign. The Advisor gave important lessons on moral values, he echoed on making 'afno gau aafai banau'. A short slogan rally was organised that was participated by the students carrying placards displaying messages on anti-drugs. The students of the school also presented welcome prayer songs in Nepali and English. SB Gurung, SHO, Singtam Police Station spoke on different issues related to POCSO Act and cybercrime. Inter House Reading Competition held at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

08.04.22: Sakyong Chisopani JHS organized an Inter House Reading Competition for both the students of Primary and Upper Primary on the occasion of the last day of the 100 days Reading Campaign. Shital Pradhan, IC of the school interacted with the students regarding the benefits of 100 days reading campaign event. Students’ feedback was collected. The students echoed that the reading campaign had made a major impact on their studies. They feel more comfortable going through their lessons. They even thanked the teachers for correcting them in the videos they used to send during the holidays. Two students each from the four houses participated in both categories of the reading competition. All the teaching staff and students from classes 3 to classes 8 attended the event. Parent Teacher Meeting organized at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

07.04.22: The 1st Parent Teacher Meeting for this new session was held at the Sakyong Chisopani JHS. Present on the occasion were OP Niroula (AEO -Khamdong BAC), Navin Rai (President - Chisopani GPU), Karuna Gurung (Panchayat), Himali Lamichaney (Coordinator - Khamdong BAC), Kanchan Tirwa (DEO), Bikash Rai (former SMC President), SMC members, guardians and staff of the school. Shital Pradhan, IC of the school welcomed the guest. PB Subba, the new Headmaster of the school was also welcomed on the occasion. Pradhan displayed samples of school ties, belts, and house dresses and asked for the consent of the parents. He further told about different initiatives started by the school. Navin Rai, President of Chisopani GPU told the gathered guardians to work towards the development of the school. PB Subba, the new Headmaster of the school also addressed the guardians. Farewell program organized at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

March 6, 2022: Two retired teachers and two transferred teachers were given farewells at Sakyong Chisopani JHS. LN Sharma and Geeta Pradhan, the retired teachers who had served the school for the last fifteen and eight years were felicitated for their dedicated services towards the education department.   Similarly, Satish Chandra Pradhan, Headmaster and Sushma Pradhan, PPT cum Yoga Instructor who was transferred to Saureni JHS and Middle Aritar Primary School were also presented with mementos. Also present on the occasion were Nikhil Rai, SMC President, Raju Limboo, SMC member, Bikash Rai, former SMC member, school staff, and students. International Mother Language Day observed at Sakyong Chisopani JHS

21.02.22: International Mother Language Day was observed at Sakyong Chisopani JHS. Trishna Dulal, GT Arts spoke about the importance of the day. She demonstrated the word ‘Namaste’ is used in the Nepali language to greet someone. The gathered students replaced the word Namaste in their respective native languages. Anu Gurung, GT, Arts, and Suraj Subba, GT, Maths were the other coordinator teachers.

Sakyong Chisopani JHS celebrates Result Day

Singtam, February 18: A short certificate distribution program was held at the school premises. Present on the occasion were the school staff of Sakyong Chisopani JHS, members of SMC, parents, and students. The highlight of the program was the distribution of results, certificates to the students; offering khadas and thanksgiving to the parents of those selected students, and farewell to the outgoing class viii students.  Shital Pradhan, School Incharge gave the school report of 2021. He also shared his plans for the new session before the gathered crowds. Pemala Bhutia and Nirmala Sharma gave the welcome speech and vote of thanks, respectively.
