23.07.24 : Congratulations to Ayan Rai, Anmol Rai, Abelane Darnal, Manasvi Acharya, and my son, Suyog Shital Pradhan, from Mount Zion School, Kidzee, Singtam, for securing 3rd place at the School League 2024 Chess Competition, organized by the Sikkim Chess Association at TNA, Gangtok. Thanks to our dedicated coach, Rohit Gurung, for his invaluable guidance and support. With over 10 schools participating, the school team performed exceptionally well. They have now qualified for the National Chess Competition in Assam next month.

23.06.24: Thanks to the Sikkim Chess Association , a chess tournament was organized at SCA's office at Tadong on International Olympic Day . Suyog , representing Knight Chess Academy , Singtam , scored 2.5 points (2 wins, 2 losses, and one draw). He received a certificate signed by Thomas Bach , President of the International Olympic Committee and PT Usha , President, of the National Olympic Committee . Indeed, a huge achievement.

27.10.23, Itanagar:  Twenty-one-year-old Rahul Gurung from Gangtok, Sikkim, won the coveted title at the 21st North East FIDE Rating Chess Tournament, held at Dree Ground, Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. Gurung's outstanding performance earned him a cash prize of one lakh, an impressive trophy, and a distinguished certificate. His strategic prowess and dedication were on full display throughout the tournament. This was his third title win after 2018 and 2019.  Players from Assam demonstrated commendable prowess, claiming the second and third positions in the fiercely contested event. The competition saw 351 participants hailing from the eight states of North East India, showcasing the region's burgeoning talent and passion for chess. Another standout performance was delivered by Rohit Gurung, also from Sikkim, who clinched the sixth position and was awarded a cash prize and certificate, recognizing his exceptional gameplay and tenacity.
