The highlight of the day was Inter-School Badminton for Secondary Schools and Inter-School Quiz competition for Primary School levels. PRESS RELEASE Rongli, 10 th October 2015:  Rongli Primary Health Centre organized World Mental Health Day at Garg Bhawan, Rongli Bazar, East Sikkim on 10 th October 2015. The programme was attended by Panchayats, Teachers and students from Rongli JHS, ASHAs, NGO, Staffs of Rongli PHC and the general public of Rongli Bazar. The programme was observed with the theme “Walk with Dignity”. The main focus of the programme was Rally on mental health by the students of Rongli JHS. The students of Rongli JHS started the rally from the School premises to Rongli Bridge and ended at Garg Bhawan. The participants were explained on mental health, its problems, ways to maintain positive mental health and public were also aware on “COTPA” Act Cigarette and other Tobacco products Act. Rongli: 3rd May 2015: Government JHS, Rongli under 20 Chujachen Constituency organised a day long Donation collection to suport earthquake victims for Nepal on 2nd May 2015. An amount of Rs. 19,132 was collected on the donation drive rally while one day teacher’s salary of 15,282 was also collected in from the school. The total amount of 34,414 shall be handed over to AEO, HRDD, Regu GVK, reads the press release. Ganesh Kumar Chettri, Headmaster of the school had thanked every individual involved for the noble cause. The day started with the two minute prayers held at the school in presence of Headmaster, Teachers and Students. Students started with their individual contribution that was put into the donation box thereafter they participated in the door to door donation drive rally. People came forward to support the drive by contributing donation.

{ I started writing columns in newspapers with an article on my grandfather some twelve years back, and today, when I flip over the pages of bygone days, I do see his intuition upon me in things that other people care little about.  This article is my tribute to my grandfather for what I am today!! ]   The rain failed to mar the funeral procession of my grandfather at Rongli, his birthplace.  Thirteen days passed by, and in the last two weeks, it is clear weather that has helped his relatives and well-wishers to give their last visit to offer prayers at his residence. I do notice a silence and emptiness around my grandfather's residence. Despite the moving crowds, his absence is felt. His commanding voice and the way he wanted his family members to unite on every occasion echo in my small mind.   Siba Narayan Pradhan, more popular as Sibay Gurubau, was a couple of months short of his ninety birthday when he passed away, and he was the oldest person in Rongli.
