5th Shiv Lata Scholarship 2025-26 Awarded to Arluv and Yankey Gurung

15.03.2025 : Among the 21 students participating in the 5th Shiv Lata Free Scholarship Examination 2025, Master Arluv Gurung and Miss Yankey Gurung successfully passed the scholarship exam. Both students received certificates of achievement, school bags, exercise copies, books, and a set of school and house dresses during the function at Riverine Elementary School, Melatar, Rongli. The scholarship prioritizes students who have completed class V and belong to the BPL category, with support from the Shiv Lata family. Shiva Narayan Pradhan, a former teacher at a school in Rongli (now known as Kumari Pema Tseduen Secondary School), has been instrumental in its establishment. The selected students will be able to avail themselves of free education at Riverine Elementary School for classes VI-VIII.

Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship 2022 announced

05.02.22: Master Jeedan Mishra and Miss Narkiss Begum were the two students selected for the 2nd Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship held at Riverine Elementary School, Rongli. F ifteen  passed out class v   students from different schools both government and private schools had participated in the examination held at the school on February 26, 2022. The jury  of the scholarship answer scripts was Lomas Dhungel, National Awardee Teacher from Makha SSS. Mr. Kumar Pradhan, Joint Director, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim  was the Chief Guest of the day. Other distinguished guests included TT Bhutia, SMC President, families of Shiv Lata, guardians, and students of the Riverine Elementary School. Rongli’s Riverine Elementary School starts Shiv Lata free education scholarship

March 3, Singtam : Manzil Chettri and Anmol Rai became the first recipients of the 1 st Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship initiated by Riverine Elementary School, Rongli. Eleven students that had passed out class v exams from different schools both government and private schools had participated in the examination held two weeks back at the school.  The scholarship was supported by the family members of Late Siba Narayan Pradhan and Late Nirlata Pradhan. Siba Narayan Pradhan was a former Head-Sir of Middle English School, Rongli that is today known as Kumari Pema Tsedeun Secondary School. Damber Pradhan, Incharge 20 Chujachen was the Chief Guest of the day. Other distinguished guests included Sabnam Golay, Headmistress Kumari Pema Tsedeun Secondary School, Gyatsola Bhutia, President Chujachen Sports Academy, Krishna Chettri, President Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti, families of Shiv Lata, guardians, and students of the Riverine Elementary School.
