RANGPO, February 9, 2023 : The Executive Members of Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) met the Players and support staff who are selected for the first-ever Inter-Zonal Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy. Miss Leezamit Lepcha, Miss Pranita Chettri and Miss Yudenmit Lepcha will be representing the Northeast Zone from Sikkim, while the Senior Physiotherapist of SICA Miss Sheril Lepcha has been appointed as the Physiotherapist of the team.  While addressing the players and support staff the Honorary Secretary Mr Rinzing Namgyal Bhutia, Jt. Secretary Mr Gopal Sharma Dahal, Councillor Mr Karma Jigme Namgyal and Member Mr Rajen Gurung gave a special thanks to Miss Kikam Bhutia - Senior women’s coach, who on the call from SICA spared her time and trained the girls before leaving for the tournament. The executives on behalf of the entire Sikkim Cricket Association wish the team the best of luck for the upcoming tournament.

Three women cricketers from Sikkim have been selected to represent North East Zone in the Inter-Zonal Senior Women’s One-Day Tournament, scheduled to start on 12 th February. The women players for the North East Zone was shortlisted at a meeting of selectors and office bearers of North East state cricket bodies held in Guwahati on 3 rd February. The meeting had the presence of Mamon Majumdar, Member, Apex Council, BCCI, and Nabam Vivek, Zonal Convener. Sikkim Cricket Association was represented by President Tika Subba, Honorary Secretary Rinzing Nangyal Bhutia and Selector Karma Thendup. Leezamit Lepcha, Yudenmit Lepcha and Pranita Chettri have made the cut in 15-member squad, while Tshering Ongmu Lepcha has been named as one of the standby players. They are key players in Sikkim women’s team, and were selected in North East Zone team on the basis of their performance this season. Sikkim beat Arunachal Pradesh in the fourth match of the ongoing Senior Women’s One Day Trophy by 6 wickets yesterday at Salt Lake, Kolkata.  Sikkim won the toss and elected to field first. In the first innings, Arunachal were all-out for 74 runs in 37.3 overs. Class bowling by all the bowlers of Sikkim was showcased during the match that restricted the opponent to a low score. Manizha Mumtaz took 4 wickets conceding just 11 runs in 9 overs, Pranita Chettri 3 wickets, and Tabita Subba 2 wickets. In the second innings, Sikkim chased the target of 75 runs in 27.1 overs. Jetsun Chee scored 23 runs and remained not-out, Songkit Lhamu Lepcha 14 runs, Rinki Rajak and Manizha Mumtaz scored 12 runs each and Yudenmit Lepcha 10 runs.  Sikkim has scored 4 point(s) for this win and will be playing against Bihar on 4 th  November 2021.

SikkimUnder 19 Women’s team created a history by entering into the Knock-Out Round of the ongoing Under 19 Women’s One Day tournament for the first time after winning all the five matches of the league round. Today they won against Arunachal Pradesh by 64 runs (VJD Method) at Vikash Cricket Ground, Bhubaneshwar, Odhisha. Sikkim is leading the Plate Ground point(s) table by 20 point(s) and will be playing the Knock-out ground in Jaipur from 11 th October. Sikkim won the toss and chooses to bat first. In the first innings, Sikkim scored 207 runs in 50 overs loosing 5 wickets. Samayita Roy Prodhan scored 68 runs, Dikcha Gurung 29, Nandita Das 26, Pranita Chettri 23 no-out, and Captain Pretika Chettri 16 not-out. In the second innings, Sikkim took early wickets and Arunachal lost 3 wickets for just 17 runs in 20 overs. Due to heavy rain the match was stopped and Sikkim won the match by VJD method.

SikkimUnder 19 Women’s team registered yet another win in the ongoing Women's Under 19 One Day Trophy against Nagaland by 52 runs today at KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, earning 4 point(s). With one match to go in the league round of the tournament Sikkim is leading the point(s) table with 16 point(s). Nagaland won the toss and choose to field first. In the first innings, Sikkim scored 143 runs losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. Nandita Das scored 33 runs, Pranita Chettri 32, Nur Pandi Lepcha 16 not-out, Pretika Chettri 15, Yudenmit Lepcha 11 and Leezamit Lepcha 3 not-out.  In the second innings, Sikkim’s attacking bowling restricted the opponent an Nagaland were all-out for 91 runs in 38.3 overs. Dikcha Gurung took 3 wickets for Sikkim, followed by Nur Pandi and Leezamit who took 2 wickets each. 

  Sikkim Under 19 Men’s team secured their second win in the ongoing Men's Under 19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh by 41 runs today at JSCA International Stadium , Ranchi, Jharkhand , earning 10 point(s) for far in the tournament.Sikkim is currently second in the Plate Group . Sikkim won the toss and chose to bat first. In the first innings, they scored 90 runs losing 10 wickets in 36.2 overs. Adarsh Pandey scored 24 runs, Captain Tarun Sharma 23 runs and Vivek Kumar 14 runs not-out.  In the second innings, Arunachal Pradesh were all-out for 49 runs in 18.1 overs. Captain Tarun Sharma took 5 wickets, Ankur Malik 4 wickets and Sajal Thapa took 1 wicket.  Sikkim will be playing against  Meghalaya on  04/10/2021 at OVAL Ground, Ranchi, Jharkhand. 30.09.21 :  The Under 19 Women’s One Day Tournament has begun and Sikkim played its first match today against Jammu & Kashmir at Railway Stadium , Bhubaneshwar , Odisha and won the match by 3 wickets in just 28 overs, earning 4 point(s). Jammu & Kashmir won the toss and choose to bat first. In the first innings, they were all-out for 78 runs in 35.4 overs. Sikkim’s attacking bowling lineup gave a lot of trouble to the opponents. Dikcha Gurung took 3 wickets, Samayita Roy Prodhan took 2 wickets and Nur Pandi Lepcha 1 wicket. GANGTOK, APRIL 30:   Jemimah Rodrigues, an India Cricketer and member of Senior Women’s Team of India hosts a webinar organised by Sikkim Cricket Association for Women’s team of Sikkim. She has played 16 one day internationals and 43 Twenty20 Internationals for India and is one of the regular members of Indian Women’s team. During her one-hour webinar she shared her experience with our players and said that “dreams do come true”, all we need to do is work hard to make a dream come reality. All the players attending the webinar felt honoured, motivated and thanked SICA for conducting such programs for women players.

Bengaluru, 16 th March 2021: The second win for Sikkim Women team in the Senior Women’sOne Day League came in a nail-biting match today at Alur Cricket Stadium II at Bengaluru, which was won by 2 wickets in the last ball of the innings.  Sikkim won the toss and chose to field first. In the first innings, Bihar was all-out for 186 runs in 47.5 overs. Apurva Kumari scored the highest of 81 runs for the side. Sikkim built the pressure from the beginning and the opponent lost early wickets to Purni Maya Gurung, who took 2 important wickets in the first over of the innings. Sikkim Women Team lost two consecutive matches at the Senior Women’s One Day Cricket Trophy Tournament. They now face Bihar, Mizoram and Manipur.  Sikkim’s skipper Sarika Koli’s maiden unbeaten century went waste as Sikkim lost her match against the women team of Jammu and Kashmir. Batting first Sikkim women scored 188 in her 50 overs with the loss of nine wickets. Only Rinki Rajak and Purni Maya Gurung went on to score double figures. Bengaluru, 11 th March 2021: Sikkim women cricket team started its SeniorWomen’s One Day Cricket Trophy Tournament with a win over Arunachal Pradesh women cricket team. Jammu & Kashmir, Poundicherry, Bihar, Mizoram and Manipur are the other teams that Sikkim will face in her league matches.  Batting first Arunachal Pradesh women cricket team could only manage 123 runs in their 50 overs with the loss of five wickets. Nabam Yapu was the highest scorer for the side with 31 runs, followed by B. Ritu with 17 runs. Mariam Subba, Tabita Subba, Sarika Koli and Pranita Chettri took one wicket each. The Sikkim team chased the target in 35.1 overs with four wickets in hand. Rinki Rajak was the top scorer with her 56 runs not-out. She was supported by Songkit Lhamu Lepcha (18 runs), Tshering Ongmu Lepcha (16 runs) and Sarika Koli (13 runs).    

Sikkim women cricket team won their match against Mizoram today in ongoing Women’s U23 One-Day League (2018-19) at KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. Sikkim have won two matches so far in the tournament and is standing with 8 Point(s) in the Plate Division. They will be playing eight matches in this tournament. Mizoram won the toss and elected to field first. Sikkim scored 209 runs with the loss of 3 wickets in 50 overs.
