Sunita Rai of Rolep, Gnathang Machong Constituency won the title of "The Voice of Lampokhari Season - 4.  Karna Bdr Rai from Lokdara Chujachen became 1st Runne rs-up and Lazong Bhutia from Aritar Chujachen became 2nd Runners-up respectively out of Top Four contestants.

RONGLI, APRIL 28: A picnic cum cleanliness drive was organized by Scouts and Guides (Dalapchand SS) and Generous Student Dalapchand SS at Lampokhari on April 28.  Chandra Maya Rai, Panchayat President, MK Rai, Panchayat Secretary, Teaching and non-teaching faculties of Dalapchand SS and the students were present on the occasion. The legend of Lampokhari and an unknown burial at Aritar I find myself fortunate that my effort to provide information about our state's bygone days through this column is appreciated. I have always considered myself a storyteller rather than a history digger.  I am just a medium through which these stories, anecdotes, and essays are shared so that readers can learn more about the state of Sikkim. I firmly believe that the more I share, the more I hear in return. To add to last week's article on “Revisiting Dalapchand,” today I share exciting stories of a legend of Lampokhari, which is not recorded in papers but passed on from one generation to another. The last day of the 5th Lampokhari Paryatan 2011 saw a musical evening with Kunti Moktan. A legendary singer Kunti Moktan sang a dozen song that made four thousand odd crowds dance to her song. Prakash Sundas was the only singer from Sikkim on that night to share the stage with Kunti Moktan. It is an achievement for this young boy to come this far.

Dalapchand, April 13: The second day of the Lampokhari Paryatan 2011 Festival saw Pooja Pariyar winning the Miss Lamphokari Beauty Pageant 2011 while Singer Prakash Sundas, an Indian Idol aspirant and winner of Namchi Mahotsav 2010 entertained the over two thousand crowds with his songs in the highly anticipated late evening show. The late evening show also had a Fashion Show by the renowned Models from Kolkata. Present on the occasion were Puran Gurung, Area MLA, Dhiraj Pradhan, BDO Rongli, Tenzing T Kaleon, SDM Rongli Sub-Division, KB Chamling, SDF Vice President, Bimal Dawari, Zilla Adhakshya, East and members of Lampokhari Paryatan 2011 Festival.
