18.02.23: The Sikkim Government's Women and Child Development Department organized a three-day (February 15-17) capacity building and counselling for persons with disabilities and promotion of NGOs for the formation of National Trust/Act Advocacy Groups, and Legal Services for Persons with Disabilities. More than 70 participants participated. The Minister of Women and Child Development, Sanjeet Kharel, inaugurated a program at Saramsa Enclave, near Saramsa Garden.  Members of the All Sikkim Divyang Ekta Association thanked the Women and Child Development Department and everyone who took part in the three-day program. Disability Awareness cum Assessment & Aids and Appliances camp organised by District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, Social Justice Empowerment & Welfare Department in collaboration with Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. HRDD and Govt. Doctors & Specialist, Govt. of Sikkim. The assessment camps were successfully completed at following places are as under: Rangpo PHC, East on 17th March, Khamdong PHSC, East on 19th March, Soreng PHC, West on 21st March and Yuksam PHC, West on 22nd Mar ch 2016. The camps were attended by different school going students as well as those children with disability problems.
