Riverine Elementary School celebrates its 11th Foundation Day

22.12.22, Singtam: The 11th Foundation Day was celebrated by Riverine Elementary School at Community Hall, Rongli. The school's annual report, academic prize distributions, felicitations, cultural programs, a fashion show and addresses from dignitaries were the highlights of the day. A farewell ceremony for the outgoing student was also organised. Sanjay Budhathoki, an International Physique Athlete was the chief guest of the day. Other distinguished guests included TT Bhutia (Retd. Joint Secretary, Education Department), LN Pradhan (Retd. Additional Secretary, Power Department), Sakuntla Pradhan (Retd. Teacher), Sachin Rai (Zilla Panchayat), Ashish Subba (CLC Incharge), Deven Chettri (CLC Treasurer), SMC members, Panchayat members, former teachers, guardians and others. Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship 2022 announced

05.02.22: Master Jeedan Mishra and Miss Narkiss Begum were the two students selected for the 2nd Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship held at Riverine Elementary School, Rongli. F ifteen  passed out class v   students from different schools both government and private schools had participated in the examination held at the school on February 26, 2022. The jury  of the scholarship answer scripts was Lomas Dhungel, National Awardee Teacher from Makha SSS. Mr. Kumar Pradhan, Joint Director, Education Department, Govt. of Sikkim  was the Chief Guest of the day. Other distinguished guests included TT Bhutia, SMC President, families of Shiv Lata, guardians, and students of the Riverine Elementary School. Rongli’s Riverine Elementary School starts Shiv Lata free education scholarship

March 3, Singtam : Manzil Chettri and Anmol Rai became the first recipients of the 1 st Shiv Lata Free Education Scholarship initiated by Riverine Elementary School, Rongli. Eleven students that had passed out class v exams from different schools both government and private schools had participated in the examination held two weeks back at the school.  The scholarship was supported by the family members of Late Siba Narayan Pradhan and Late Nirlata Pradhan. Siba Narayan Pradhan was a former Head-Sir of Middle English School, Rongli that is today known as Kumari Pema Tsedeun Secondary School. Damber Pradhan, Incharge 20 Chujachen was the Chief Guest of the day. RES students visits Rhenock College and Ram Gauri Sangralaya

RONGLI, OCTOBER 20 : Students of Riverine Elementary School, Melatar, Rongli from classes 4 to 8 went for an educational tour at Rhenock on October 18. The school team was escorted by Bikki Rai, Principal, and Yamuna Rai, Incharge. The places of the visit included Government College Rhenock and Ram Gauri Sangrahalaya, Rhenock.  The students explored different sections of the library, computer science laboratory, classes, and administrative building of the Government College. At Ram Gauri Sangralaya the students and teachers enjoyed the collections of old manuscripts, driftwood arts, philately section, and other museum collectibles. They also visited the EverGreen Nursery nearby.  The students recorded information they learned from their field trip. Teacher's Day celebration at Riverine Elementary School

Biki Rai, Principal, Riverine Elementary School, Rongli was the Chief Guest of the day while rest of the teachers and non teaching staff was the Special Guest of the day. The day long program was held at Community Hall. The major highlight of the day was the students collectively gifting two water filters to the school that was received by their Principal. Shneha Pradhan, Meghna Gurung, Sumnima Rai and Dawa Gurung were the host of the day. Principal and teachers lighted a lamp and offered khadas to portrait of Dr. S. Radhakrisnan. Students of class vi presented the welcome song. Special Teacher Day song was performed by the students of classes’ vii and viii. Power Point Presentation Inter House Competition makes debut in Sikkim School

 SCHOOL NEWS RONGLI, AUGUST 31 :   In an innovative inter house activity held at Riverine Elementary School , Melatar, Rongli a Power Point Presentation Competition was held on August 31.   The students of four houses i.e. Radhakrishna, Abdul Kalam, Mother Teresa and Kalpana Chawla participated at the competition that was judged by Gridhar Dawari, Headmaster Chadaney Primary School, Bhim Pradhan, Teacher, Rongli SS and Biki Rai, Principal Riverine Elementary School. SINGTAM , DECEMBER 21: Riverine Elementary School , Rongli ,  celebrated its annual function on December 18  at Community Hall , Melatar , Rongli with grand style. Shri Kunzang Gyatso Bhutia , Everester - 2008 , State awardee and Sikkim Khel Samman awardee was the chief guest on the occasion. The Principal, Shri Bikki Rai presented the Annual Day Report which highlighted the activities of the various departments and societies in the school as well as the individual achievements of faculty members.  Students who had achieved laurels in several areas of academics and extracurricular activities were presented awards. Riverine Elementary School visits Rongli PHC, SDM Office and Post Office

Singtam, October 13: Riverine Elementary School, Rongli organised an educational tour for students from class two to class seven on October 12. They visited different government offices in and around Rongli to get familiar with their individual works. The students accompanied with teachers interacted with the officials at the respective offices. The places of visit included Rongli PHC, SDM Office and Post Office.    Dr. Tshewang Sherpa was present at the Rongli PHC Hospital, he greeted the students and teachers. He talked about the role of health care and the importance of a hospital. Mr. Raju Pradhan, hospital staff briefed about the function of different departments. 149th Gandhi Jayanti Updates from Tinek, Rongli and Lingtam

TINEK, EAST SIKKIM Tinek Kalyan Sangh celebrated the 149 th  Gandhi Jayanti Celebration in a colourful way. The program started with the offering of prayers at the Singha Devi Mandir by the members of the society.
