32nd Nepali Bhasa Diwas observed

21.08.23: The 32nd Nepali Bhasa Diwas was celebrated by the Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti with enthusiasm. The event took place at the Sports Hall of Archigos Preparatory Academy in Shantinagar. Shri LN Pradhan, President of Sikkim Government Retired Employees Welfare Association, Singtam Branch, was honored during the event. The day featured poetry recitations, speeches, and cultural dances. Krishna Chettri , President of SGSS, extended khadas to the Chief Guests and other attendees. He delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the significance of the day. Pradhan Neeraj Mohan , a distinguished Nepali literary figure from Singtam and Sikkim, presided over the event. Prominent guests from Singtam and beyond, such as Surya Prasad Kharel, Mahesh Dahal 'Sangam,' Nandu Dutraj 'Nisha,' Kripesh Singh, Anand Chettri i, Lokesh Mukhia, Latika Poudhyal, and Shital Pradhan, recited beautiful Nepali poems. Singtam to observe Nepali Language Recognition Day 2022

01.08.22, Singtam : Nepali language admirers from Singtam have decided to observe the 30 th Nepali Bhasa Diwas at the Bhanu Udhyan, Singtam this coming August 20. In a meeting held yesterday at the office of Sikkim Government Retired Employee Welfare Association, Singtam, a committee was formed.  The meeting chaired by Shri KB Chettri, Joint Director, Education Department, Rangpo Sub Division had decided to organise an inter-school competition on extempore speech, essays and quizzes. The cultural program and poem recitation would be the other highlight of the day.  Dr MK Sharma, Hon’ble Health Minister and Area MLA and Shri Rohit Raj Maharaj, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim made Chief Parton and Parton of the Committee. सिंगतामले भाषा मान्यता दिवस मनाउने

सिंगतामका नेपाली भाषा प्रेमीहरूले आगामी अगस्ट २० गते भानु उद्यान, सिंगताममा ३०औँ नेपाली भाषा मान्यता दिवस मनाउने निर्णय गरेका छन्। हिजो सिक्किम सरकारी सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारी कल्याण संघ, सिंगतामको कार्यालयमा भएको बैठकमा समिति गठन गरेको थियो । शिक्षा विभाग, राङ्पो उप डिभिजनका संयुत्त निर्देशक श्री केबी क्षेत्रीको अध्यक्षतामा बसेको बैठकले उत्कृष्ट भाषण, निबन्ध र प्रश्नोत्तरीमा अन्तरविद्यालय प्रतियोगिता आयोजना गर्ने निर्णय गरेको थियो। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम र कविता वाचन दिनको अन्य आकर्षण हुनेछ। माननीय स्वास्थ्य मन्त्री तथा क्षेत्रका विधायक डा एमके शर्मा र सिक्किमका माननीय मुख्यमन्त्रीका सल्लाहकार श्री रोहित राज महाराजलाई समितिको प्रमुख पार्टन र पार्टन बनाए। बैठकले चयन गरेको कार्यकारिणी सदस्यमा श्री सुरेश तामाङ, श्री मोहन प्रधान नीरज र श्री सोमनाथ पाण्डे (सल्लाहकार), श्री एलएन प्रधान (अध्यक्ष), केबी क्षेत्री र श्री श्याम राई (उपाध्यक्ष), श्री सुन्दर राई (महासचिव) र श्री आरएन श्रेष्ठ (कोषाध्यक्ष) थिए।

SGSS goes virtual; celebrates 28th Nepali Bhasa Diwas

SINGTAM, AUGUST 20:   Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated 28 th Nepali Bhasa Diwas with display of online nepali poetry recitation through social platform. Six poets were invited to share their videos of poem that was uploaded on the official Facebook page of Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Chettri, President, SGSS told, we had been observing Nepali Bhasa Diwas as a big event but this time due to Covid-19 pandemic we thought of a different concept. After discussing with executive members and advisors of the Samiti we decided to go for virtual media platform. Nepali Bhasa Diwas celebrated at Shantinagar

SINGTAM, AUGUST 19 :   27th Nepali Bhasa Manyata Diwas was observed by Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti today. Shyam Rai, Additional Director, Food Department and Raj K Shrestha, Senior Nepali literary figure was the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour for the day. KB Chettri, Principal, Singtam SSS also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour along with his two Nepali Language teachers and forty students. Other distinguished guests included Somnath Pandey, President, Sadbhawana Samiti, Nandu Dutraj, Senior news reporter, Johny Rai, Singtam social media, Bhimraj Ghimiray and others. LN Pradhan, Chief Advisor of SGSS was the host of the day while Krishna Chettri, President SGSS gave the welcome speech. Highlight of the day was Nepali poem recitations and culture programmes. Shantinagar celebrates Nepali Bhasa Diwas

SINGTAM, AUGUST: Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti celebrated Nepali Bhasa Diwas with a plantation drive, poetry and talks on the development of the Nepali language. The celebration was organised in two phases, the morning phase had Ashoka saplings being planted around the Badminton Court, near Rani Khola Walkway, Shantinagar. More than two dozen saplings were planted by the members of the Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti. Krishna Chettri, President of SGSS led the plantation drive. Those saplings were gifted by Madan Tamang, Singtam. The second phase program was held at the premises of LN Pradhan (Chief Advisor, SGSS)’s residence at Shantinagar including poetry recitation and talks on the development of the Nepali language. Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj’, a noted Nepali literary writer from Singtam was the Chief Guest of the day-long program. Mahesh Dahal ‘Raley’, a poet from Chisopani, Singtam was the Guest of Honour. On the occasion of the 21st Nepali Language Recognition Day, I here share a photograph of people from Singtam waiting for the reception of Mr. and Mrs. NB Bhandari near the old Iron Bridge after nepali language was recognized and included in the 8th schedule of the Indian Constitution. (1992) Smt. Dil Kumari Bhandari, then Member of Parliament and Shri NB Bhandari, then Chief Minister of Sikkim had played a significant role in including Nepali as a National Language in Eight Schedule of the Constitution of India.
