Dhumketu Puppet Theatre performs at North Sikkim schools

Puppet Show performed by Dhumketu Puppet Theatre, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Govt. of India) of Kolkata, Eastern Region held at North Sikkim schools from November 7 to 9, 2015. The program was organized by ICDS Dzongu, under the supervision of CDPO, Netuk Lepcha. The theme of the show was 'BETI BACHAO BETI PADHAO' (Deepak Sharma)

Singtam’s Anganwadi workers observed World’s breastfeeding week

SINGTAM, AUGUST 7:   World’s breastfeeding week was observed by the eight Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) from Singtam surrounding at ICDS Centre, Singtam. The highlight of the program was to share the benefits of the breastfeeding among the nursing mother as well as to the pregnant women. The eight ICDS included Mandir Line, SNT Complex, Daragoan, Goskhan Dara, Pipal Dara, Lal Bazaar, Jubilee Line and Mandi Bazaar had jointly organized the day long program. It was informed in the program that breastfeeding protects the baby from illness and should not be discontinued in minor sickness. Breastfeeding in the initial six months was strictly advised to the infant’s mother. Interaction between the Anganwadi workers and the parents was also held. The eight members ICDS Anganwadi workers included Narmit Lepcha, Sangeeta Pradhan, Pramila Pradhan, Sukmaya Subba, Ningma Doma Tamang, Priyanka Rani Chettri, Tika Subba and Jeena Tamang

Singtam ICDS observed National Nutrition Week

SINGTAM, SEPTEMBER 7:   The seven ICDS of Singtam and its surrounding observed the National Nutrition Week on September 6 at Singtam Mandir Line ICDS. The seven ICDS that included Mandir Line, SNT Complex, Daragoan, Goskhan Dara and Mandi Bazaar had also organized the day long program. Bishnu Maya Sherpa, Secretary, Singtam Nagar Panchayat was the Chief Guest of the day. The other distinguished guests involved D Lepcha, Supervisor Singtam 1 Zone, Praveen Pradhan, President SPARK NGO Singtam, Rajnee Pradhan, Lhamu Subba, Rekha Chettri, Sushma Chettri and AWWs, adolescence’s girls, nursing mothers and others. Priyanka Chettri, AWW, SNT Complex was the host of the day. D Lepcha, Supervisor Singtam 1 Zone in her speech informed the gathered listeners about the importance of nutrition for nursing mothers and about the different services provided under ICDS.
