SINGTAM, OCTOBER 1 : Sangmo Gandhi Jayanti Celebration Committee organized a musical night on the evening of September 30 at Sangmo school premises. Sargam Sikkim contestants Prakash Sundas and Sushila Rai were the two singers that entertained the crowds that were more than couple of hundreds in numbers. Prakash Sundas, the singer has thanked the organizers, local crowds and Prakash Rai the most for an opportunity to perform at the stage. People enjoyed my songs and they also danced, said thrilled Sundas. Prakash Rai was the host of the evening event that lasted for few hours.

On the northern corner of West Bengal state of India , there is a hill station-- Kalimpong, which once hosted celebrities from all over the world. The hill town, where most of the settlers are of Nepali origin, no longer retains its old charm. But until a few weeks ago the last prime minister of a country—that has lost its independence—used to live here.
