India Gate by evening

i enjoyed being at Qutub Minar

I never thought India Gate had that height

India Gate was the first name I had in my list of places I did not want to miss. Have seen this national monument in television and on screens for umpteen times since ages I was dumb fold to make my head rise to the sky to watch this build 42 meters high. It was designed by the famous architect Edwin Lutyens. India gate was earlier named All India War Memorial.  The design of the Indian gate is almost similar to its French counterpart war memorial, the Arc-de-Triomphe. Names of over 70,000 Indian Soldiers who laid their life for in WWI are inscribed on a red wall of the monuments for who the monuments are dedicated. Faintly seen is the Rashtrapati Bhawan from India Gate At the base of the India gate there is another memorial, the Amar Jawan Jyoti that was added after independence. This eternal flame was lighted in commemoration of the unknown soldiers who laid their lives to serve this nation.

KAPIL THAPA with Kapil Thapa Fan Club at Delhi

KAPIL THAPA with Kapil Thapa Fan Club at Delhi Pictured shared by Bishal Rai 'Kirath' KAPIL THAPA FAN CLUB – DELHI 'History repeats itself once as a Tragedy and Second Time as a Farce" The ultimate reunion of Gorkhas once again in a quest for identity was dealt with severe torture, hard work, dedication and perseverance. The integration of Gorkhas dates back to 1835 AD, but it repeatedly failed due to catechism. Thus, in an age of realization, an age of McDonald's and Coke, all our young Gorkhas were driven into a world of Modernization and, of course, into the threshold of a corporate world. By virtue of being Gorkhas, we live as Gorkhas worldwide. The world of Gorkhas was never invaded or conquered, and there will be no will to do so in the future. Alexander 'The Great' failed, Napoleon III had a signatory agreement, Hitler had all the praises, and Joseph Stalin paid the homage, not forgetting the British were always in good relations with...

We don’t know how to hone talent: Bhutia

MEMORABLE MOMENT: Baichung Bhutia receives the Padma Shri award from President Pratibha Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Vijay Lokapally  NEW DELHI : From a nondescript field in Pakyoung, east Sikkim, to the Ashoka Hall in Rashtrapati Bhawan to receive the Padma Shri award, it has been an eventful journey for this pocket dynamo of Indian football. Baichung Bhutia is a glowing icon of a sport that has a truly universal appeal. At 32, he is not that swift as he used to be. But he is as crafty, as focused, as motivated, and as humble as ever. Ask him why the game is languishing in his country, Bhutia ponders for a while but refrains from speaking his mind. His inner self is in turmoil. He wants to fight but appears helpless. “We need good infrastructure, a sound administrative system, an effective development programme,” is his simple response. Same old story ...
