Sikkim Newar Guthi Congratulates Students of National Institute of Newar Language and Culture on Completion of Diploma Course

8th July 2023 - Sikkim Newar Guthi (SNG) extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the students of the National Institute of Newar Language and Culture (NINLC) in Gangtok on the successful completion of the Newa Language one-year Diploma course. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of each student. 



SNG President, Nirmal Kumar Pradhan, expresses sincere gratitude to Bhaju Dilu Kr. Pradhan, Chairman cum former President of SNG, and the esteemed Board members, Bhaju Bikash Pradhan, Principal of NINLC, and Mayju Prajala Pradhan, for their unwavering support, determination, and guidance throughout the course. Their presence and invaluable contributions have been instrumental in the successful culmination of this program. 

SNG would also like to extend special thanks to Bhaju Dr. Ranjan Lal Joshi, Head of the Central Department of Nepal Bhasa (Newa Bhasa) at Tribhuvan Vishwa Vidyalaya, Kathmandu, and Bhaju Anil Stapit, President of Nepal Lipi Guthi Kathmandu, for their inspiration and unwavering support. Their guidance and expertise have played a pivotal role in empowering the students and serving as pillars of strength throughout their journey. 



Furthermore, SNG expresses deep gratitude and appreciation to Jyapu Samaj Yala, Lalitpur, for their immense support, warm hospitality, and generosity during the students' study tour and cultural exchange program in Kathmandu. The collaboration and camaraderie between the communities have been invaluable in fostering cultural understanding and promoting the rich heritage of Newa language and culture. 

Sikkim Newar Guthi extends a special thank you to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Golay, for his continued support and blessings to the Newa students. His unwavering commitment to the Newa community and their educational endeavors is deeply appreciated. 

Once again, congratulations to all the students on their outstanding achievement, and Sikkim Newar Guthi wishes them the very best for their future endeavors. May they continue to preserve and promote the vibrant Newa language and culture. Yaku yaku subhay to all.

It is more or less a forgotten part of the development process of the then-small Himalayan kingdom, Sikkim . The introduction of the coinage system in Sikkim ceased the way it started. A study of the coinage system of Sikkim sheds light on the socio-economic and political history of the then-small state. The coins of Sikkim ended the way they appeared; they came from nowhere, and finally, they got lost out in the darkness.
