Suresh K. Lama introduces “Kina Maya Ma” to International markets

Samir Pradhan’s “Kina Maya Ma” starring Indian Idol 3 Prashant Tamang and directed by Chunilal Ghimeray under the banner of Channel Ace Production is all set for World Premiere at Kerela Social Centre, Abu Dhabi, UAE on 17th June and on an alternative day at UAE biggest city Dubai. This will be the first time in Sikkim's history that a feature film from Sikkim shall be released in overseas. 

Suresh K. Lama, a Technical Consultant by profession of Mazhitar, Rangpo is passionate about promoting and marketing Sikkim Nepali movies and artists. It is his effort that “Kinna Maya Ma” is getting its premiere in UAE. “My aim is to promote quality visuals made in Sikkim, promote our local talents and provide them opportunities beyond the state. I just want the world to get a foretaste of our Arts and Culture”, Lama says.  

He further added Channel Ace Production House is a prestigious production house in the state and Mr. Chunilal Ghimeray is contributing towards the field of Art & Culture for a few decades. His approach towards me had given me the confidence to market quality visuals around the world, added Lama.

He further said, he had established the market for “Kinna Maya Ma” in 7 countries of the world including some Indian states. Along these lines, he wishes to establish a regular market for upcoming films of Sikkim in different countries of the world too. The need for theatres in every district and subdivision would showcase the creative talents of the state and those more passionate about acting can make it a career, I am sure it can help reduce the unemployment problem to some extent, he added.

Encouraging more people in the field of production of quality films, short movies, documentaries, music videos, and corporate advertisements through the State Capacity Building Department can establish markets around India and abroad then we don’t have to depend on the market and technicalities of Nepal, says Lama. Besides Art & Culture, he is also into promoting the literature of Sikkim, Hotels & Travel Agencies of Sikkim, Handicraft & Horticulture products of Sikkim and Sikkim Tourism during his abroad tour.

Apart from promoting “Kinna Maya Ma”, these days he is very busy with the production of his debut Nepali Music Album “SAMMAN” which is 50 per cent completed. The singers giving thee voice to the album include Indian Idol 3 Prashant Tamang, Indian Idol 4 Runners up Kapil Thapa, Zee TV Saregama Singing Superstar Karma Sherpa, Star Plus Chote Ustad Pragriti Giri, South Asian Superstar Asushen Lama of Kathmandu, Himalayan Idol Banika Pradhan and Gaanga Mukhia from Sikkim. The songs are written by Mahendra Gurung, actor cum model, and the Music is provided by Ruben Shahi. The music is being recorded at DV Studio, Deorali, Gangtok.
