Turuk United of South Sikkim lifts Late Man Rupa Gurung Memorial Volleyball Tournament "Hill Championship"

It was a wonderful time hosting & coordinating the grand celebration of 68th Independence Day observed at Majhitar School Ground with the colourful cultural programmes by students of Majhitar Secondary School in coordination of teachers, sports & concluded with Final of 3rd Late Man Rupa Gurung Memorial Volleyball Tournament "Hill Championship" which was won by Turuk United of South Sikkim victory over Mamring United. Cash prize of Rs. 50000 & Rs. 30000 with trophy was handed over to winner & runner team respectively.
Zilla Upadhakshya(South) Miss Devi Maya Baraily attended the program as a Chief Guest & Medical Officer of Rangpo PHC Dr. Rojesh Gurung ,with special guest Ward Councillor Majhitar Ward Shri Purna Bdr Chettri.
On the occasion of I-Day MEUYCS presented token of appreciation to Lineman's of Power Department Majhitar ward for their outstanding service for the welfare of Majhitar Public, and thanked every sponsors , supporters & media partners for their contributions in the 68th I-Day.

This was a national song of Sikkim sung in the Nepali language during the monarchy system. During the merger with India, the song got banned and later re-released. Two words on the 8th para, which earlier said 'Rajah rah Rani,' were replaced with "Janmah bhumi."     This song was dedicated to the King and Queen of Sikkim. BY SHITAL PRADHAN A small hamlet in an eastern side Silent raush on its way, The old silk route, More older it look Upon which I stay, Hey that’s Rongli, Rongli my birthplace Years went by, years dried up, Yet the small village is as it was, Silent, peaceful and introvert Today’s picture of Rongli, Houses as station bogie, Looks a cradle, from Chujachen, Upon which the blue sky, As if I can touch thee, Roaring River, As the legend we hear, Still watch with glee, The terror of 1890 somewhat forgotten, Yet another terrorizing moment, 68 was the year… 1968, When sky too wasn’t pleased. That was Rongli, Rongli of the past. Playing along the Baar-Pepal tree, Hiding in the Shivalaya, Watching videos and aloft Is a decent memory, now? Sweet time in treasure, Yet when I am in Rongli, I am happy, in whither sweet. Rongli my birthplace !
