Promo of “Newa’ released

SINGTAM, SEPTEMBER 6: NEWA, a documentary based on the Newar Language and Culture produced by Badhaichha Creation, Singtam, was officially released at the Production House Office at Singtam. Mohan Pradhan ‘Neeraj,’ Sansthapak and Singtam Basibiyalo clicked the video file that was uploaded to YouTube. 

Present on the occasion were Praveen Pradhan, Managing Director, Badhaichha Creation, and his members, including Bikash Pradhan, Shital Pradhan, Pramod Pradhan, Pranay Pradhan, and others. NEWA documentary will be released at the Indra Jatra celebration on September 8th at Golitar, Singtam. The documentary features Uttam Pradhan, a famed actor in Nepali cinema, along with Newari dance performers from Dentam Sakha Guthi. It also focuses on learning the Newar Language, which was designed by Bikash Pradhan, a Newar Language teacher from Namthang SSS. 


Bikram Pradhan, Chief Whip, Government of Sikkim, and Rohit Kr. Pradhan, President Sikkim Newar Guthi, Gangtok supported Badhaichha Creation's efforts and shared their messages to the Newar community through this documentary. 

Biren Lama shot and edited the documentary, while Suresh Thapa was his technical assistant. All the artists in the documentary are from Sikkim.

JANHA BAGCHA TEESTA RANGIT

This was a national song of Sikkim sung in the Nepali language during the monarchy system. During the merger with India, the song got banned and later re-released. Two words on the 8th para, which earlier said 'Rajah rah Rani,' were replaced with "Janmah bhumi."     This song was dedicated to the King and Queen of Sikkim. Rongli my birthplace

BY SHITAL PRADHAN A small hamlet in an eastern side Silent raush on its way, The old silk route, More older it look Upon which I stay, Hey that’s Rongli, Rongli my birthplace Years went by, years dried up, Yet the small village is as it was, Silent, peaceful and introvert Today’s picture of Rongli, Houses as station bogie, Looks a cradle, from Chujachen, Upon which the blue sky, As if I can touch thee, Roaring River, As the legend we hear, Still watch with glee, The terror of 1890 somewhat forgotten, Yet another terrorizing moment, 68 was the year… 1968, When sky too wasn’t pleased. That was Rongli, Rongli of the past. Playing along the Baar-Pepal tree, Hiding in the Shivalaya, Watching videos and aloft Is a decent memory, now? Sweet time in treasure, Yet when I am in Rongli, I am happy, in whither sweet. Rongli my birthplace !
