Valediction program of Newa Language Learning Classes completed

SINGTAM, FEBRUARY 03: The valediction program of month long Newa Language Speaking and Learning Course concluded at Nepali Dharamsala at Singtam. Presentation of prizes and mementos was the highlight of the day long program. Shyam Pradhan, MLA Arithang was the Chief Guest of the day. Around 57 students of all walk of age had registered for the Newa class.
Other distinguished guests present on the occasion included Dilu Kr. Maskey, President, Sikkim Newar Guthi, H.P.Pradhan, Vice President, Sikkim Newar Guthi, Sushen Pradhan, Secretary, Sikkim Newar Guthi Youth Affair, Jeewan Pradhan, General Secretary, Gangtok Sakha Zone, members of  Newa Bhay Bowneykuti, Singtam, students, parents and Newars of in and around Singtam. Seema Pradhan was the host for the day.
The program started with the Saraswati Bandana performed by Newa Sai Mandali from in and around Singtam. Newa puja rituals were followed thereafter. Binod Pradhan, President Newa Bhay Bowneykuti, Singtam gave the welcome speech where he spoked about the importance of language for the safeguard of the community. Ajit Pradhan, General Secretary, presented the report of the classes.
Avantika Pradhana, Ismita Pradhan and Aryan Pradhan were awarded the top three students of the month long Newa language course, the prizes was sponsored in the memory of Late Dil Bdr Pradhan.. Hema Pradhan and Ismita Pradhan were presented with 100% attendance memento. Ravi Pradhan won the highest facebook likes memento. Prizes were presented to the winners by the Chief Guests and other guests.

Conversation on Newa language by the students was presented before the gathered crowds that were highly appreciated. Those students included Avantika Pradhan, Ismita Pradhan, Anmol Pradhan, Aditya Pradhan, Reshma Pradhan, Sanyukta Pradhan, Suraksha Pradhan and Aryan Pradhan. Tanishka Pradhan gave a Newa speech that was translated in Nepali by Reshmi Pradhan. Speech was also given by D.K.Pradhan & Pushpa Pradhan.
L.N.Pradhan, Chief advisor, organising committee, thanked the teachers for their valuable contribution and support to make the month long course a success. Dilu Kr Maskey, President, SNG in his speech congratulated the organizing committee and the students on their achievement; he also highlighted the ongoing work of the SNG in various fields and appealed the gathered crowd for the support and unity. Shyam Pradhan, the Chief Guest in his speech congratulated the students and guardians & emphasised on the significance of saving our language and also requested everyone to provide support to the SNG.

The day was ended with certificate distribution to the students and vote of thanks by Manoj Pradhan followed by Bhoj.
