Pawan Chamling sounds poll bugle with “SDF Pariwar”

The 10-day long door-to-door campaign is aimed at directly interacting with 1 Lakh households across Sikkim to understand their aspirations, the resolution of which will be the priority of the SDF government.

Gangtok, 16th March 2019: Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Chamling began Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party’s campaign for the upcoming Legislative Assembly by launching “SDF Pariwar”, a mass contact initiative through which the party aims to directly connect with people across the state and enroll them as members of the SDF family. As part of the programme, the Chief Minister knocked the doors of 10 households in Namchi, interacting with people, seeking feedback on the government’s work and understanding their aspirations. The campaign was simultaneously launched by the Founder Members of the SDF party across the state at 500 locations.

Speaking on the occasion, Chamling stated that aspirations obtained through the campaign will be the basis for SDF government’s development agenda. As part of the exercise, the SDF party volunteers will record the demands, opinions & grievances of each member. The party will work towards resolving these demands in the first 100 days of the government. The exercise in line with party’s philosophy of “Janta Raj Ma Jantai Raja” (people are king’s in a democracy). In effect, the people of Sikkim will set the agenda of the Government, the Chamling added.
Chamling Boards a Taxi to Acknowledge the Contribution of Taxi Drivers; Roars into Namchi with a massive Car Rally
In a unique format, Chamling boarded a local taxi (Savari) to travel from the capital Gangtok to Namchi, as a mark of respect to the driver’s fraternity and their role as ambassadors of the State. The Chief Minister was joined in by thousands of enthusiastic volunteers in a car rally which took off from Lal Bazaar and covering Ranipool-Sintam-Mamring-Namthang-Bhanjyang, culminating at Namchi. As the Chief Minister’s taxi inched through major thoroughfares, enthusiastic people and party members took vantage positions to click a prized photo. The Chief Minister also took time to interact with people enroute to Namchi.
As part of the SDF Pariwar, the party will mobilize 15,000 SDF Pariwar Sahyodhas (“SDF Pariwar Ambassadors”) to reach over 1 lakh households in a span of 10 days, establishing direct connect with 4 lakh people.  The Sahyodhas will call on the voters in their homes across the state to seek support, solicit feedback on the work done by the SDF government over the past 25 years and obtaining their support to ensure sustained progress of the state. The Sahyodhas will also note down the aspirations of the households, which will be shared directly with Chamling.
