GANGTOK, March 21: On the second day of the ongoing ‘B’ Division League of Khangchendzonga Shield Men’s 2021 at Reshithang, Gangtok, the match was played between Cricket Association of Tatangchen (C. A. T.) and Challengers Cricket Club, Singtam. The toss was won by C. A. T. and opted to bat first.
In the first innings, they scored 205 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in 30 overs. Captain Lee Yong Lepcha was the highest scorer for the side with 64 runs (not-out), Aamir Iqbal Bhutia (38), Phurba Tamang (30), Jyoti Prasad Bind (21) and Bhim Luitel (17). Md Imran and Chandra Bahadur Timsina took 2 wickets each and Padam Bahadur Limboo took 1 wicket for Challengers.
Challenger Cricket Club Singtam struggled in the beginning by losing early wickets but the middle-order batsman got to hold off the wickets and made 180 runs in 30 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Faiz Ahmed made 61 runs, Padam Bahadur Limboo (24), Ganga Ram Nirola (16) not-out, Captain Bhumi Subba (14), Chandra Bahadur Timsina (13), and Santosh Prasad (12). Md Aadil took 3 wickets, Sonam Tshering Bhutia 2 wickets, Abhishek Kumar, Pritam and Bhim Luitel took 1 wicket each for C. A. T.
C. A. T. won the match by 25 runs and Lee Yong Lepcha was announced Man of The Match for his 64 runs. The next match will be played between Royal Daragoan Cricket Club and Shaft Cricket Club on 22nd March.
